TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (thigh) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. The superstar guard sat out of Sunday's game due to right thigh soreness. It really wouldn't be shocking to see the Grizzlies play it safe and have Morant sit out both games of the back-to-back set. Tyus Jones would be in line for another start if Morant sits out. He'll be a popular DFS option and streaming choice if given another start on Monday.
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams (illness) is considered questionable for Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. The big man is in danger of missing his second straight game due to a non-COVID related illness. His absence would mean heavy minutes for Jaren Jackson Jr. with Brandon Clarke (hip) already ruled out. Also, Xavier Tillman Sr. would likely see another start if Adams is unable to go. He'd be worth looking at as a streaming choice if Adams sits out.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke (hip) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. The 26-year-old will miss his fifth game in a row due to left hip soreness. The Grizzlies could be shorthanded with Steven Adams (illness) also in danger of missing this game. Jaren Jackson Jr. is likely to see heavy minutes, while Xavier Tillman Sr. should be a decent streaming option while Clarke is out.
Sunday, January 08
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (thigh) is questionable for Sunday's meeting with the visiting Utah Jazz. The 23-year-old is dealing with a sore right thigh. However, considering he scored 32 points in 35 minutes against the Orlando Magic on Friday, it likely isn't anything serious. Of course, Tyus Jones would fill the void if Morant sits this one out. Jones has averaged 20.6 points and 8.4 assists in five appearances in the starting lineup this season, giving him a massive upside from a fantasy standpoint.
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams (illness) is questionable for Sunday's contest against Utah. The veteran isn't feeling well, which could explain his four-point effort in Friday's meeting with Orlando. However, he did log 30 minutes, which is a good sign. Nonetheless, if Adams doesn't play, Xavier Tillman Sr. and Santi Aldama may see a few extra minutes. Yet, neither should be considered a lock in any fantasy lineup.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke (hip) remains out on Sunday against Utah, marking his fourth consecutive absence. The 26-year-old is battling left hip soreness, so it remains to be seen if he'll get the green light for Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. As a result, Xavier Tillman Sr., who most recently amassed eight rebounds and six points versus the Orlando Magic, should continue to see extra work.
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (thigh) will not play Sunday against the Utah Jazz. Morant was questionable with soreness in his thigh before being ruled out. The injury is not considered to be serious and is likely more of a night off for the young star. Tyus Jones will pick up a spot start and is averaging 20.6 points and 8.4 assists as a starter this season. Jones should be a popular target for DFS contests.
Thursday, January 05
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke (hip) won't be in the lineup for the third straight time Thursday against Orlando. He is working his way back from a sore left hip. Following Thursday, Clarke will get some very good recovery time as Memphis won't be back on the court until Sunday, so he should have a good shot at returning for the next matchup. Xavier Tillman has seen more minutes come his way in Clarke's absence and he will look to impress again on Thursday after producing 10 points with six rebounds, two steals and one block Wednesday versus the Hornets.
Wednesday, January 04
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke (hip) will miss a second consecutive game on Wednesday versus Charlotte. He is carrying a sore left hip and is getting another day off to recover. Clarke has been a good contributor off the bench for Memphis, averaging 10.1 points and 5.5 rebounds. His absence and Memphis' other injuries have given David Roddy a decent role in the rotation, while Xavier Tillman also benefitted on Sunday against Sacramento. However, both players have struggled to make an impact and remain risky fantasy options.
Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Santi Aldama (ankle) is considered questionable for Wednesday's game against Charlotte. He is in danger of missing a third consecutive game. The Spaniard is enjoying a good sophomore campaign and averages 9.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in 23.3 minutes on a nightly basis. He could have a very significant role to play on Wednesday with Brandon Clarke (hip) remaining out, but it remains to be seen if Aldama can get himself healthy for the game. If not, David Roddy, Xavier Tillman and Jake LaRavia have a chance to earn extended minutes, especially if Ziaire Williams (knee) also remains out.
Memphis Grizzlies forwards Santi Aldama (ankle) and Ziaire Williams (knee) will play Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets. Aldama missed two games with an ankle injury but should go back to his normal reserve role. Aldama should see extra minute with Brandon Clarke (hip) ruled out. Williams has also missed the last two games and will likely in a reserve role on Wednesday.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones (illness) is available for Wednesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. The 26-year-old has been cleared to play after dealing with a non-COVID related illness. He should resume his normal role of backing up Ja Morant. He's worth looking at in deep leagues, but normally doesn't have standard league value unless Morant is out.
Sunday, January 01
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (rest) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings. The 23-year-old sat out on Saturday, which isn't surprising as the team wants to try and keep him healthy. Jackson will return for the second leg of the back-to-back set. The Grizzlies are banged up right now, so Jackson could be in for a big game. Fantasy managers should check their lineups and make sure he's in there for Sunday's slate.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke (hip) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings. He played 20 minutes on Saturday, so the Grizzlies are likely going to be cautious here. His absence would open up more minutes for Jake LaRavia in the rotation. However, he's not worth streaming with Jaren Jackson Jr. and Steven Adams healthy and on the court. Jackson could be in for a big night, assuming Clarke is unable to play.
Friday, December 23
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies shooting guard Desmond Bane (toe) has been upgraded to questionable for Friday's contest vs. the Suns, as he works his way back from a sprained right big toe. Bane, who hasn't suited up since Nov. 11, took part in shootaround Friday, despite previously being expected to miss even more time due to the ailment. The 24-year-old has taken enormous strides forward offensively in his third NBA campaign, averaging 24.7 PPG across his first 12 contests. His 3.8 made triples per outing have him tied for sixth in the league, as he has shot an exemplary 45.1 percent from long range. While season-long managers can shift Bane to the active roster as soon as he is cleared, DFS managers are likely better off waiting for his minutes load to stabilize before adding him to lineups.
Thursday, December 15
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams is officially off of the injury report a day ahead of the team's contest against the Milwaukee Bucks. He only had to miss one game due to an ankle injury and seems good to return to his usual starting role at center. The 29-year-old big man has averaged 8.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game so far this season. He's been an elite rebounding option for category leagues and can help in a pinch in points leagues if there's enough of a reward for high-rebound games.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane (toe) could miss an additional three to four weeks. He hasn't played in over a month while dealing with a right big toe injury, which has been a tough blow for the team. Before going down, Bane was averaging a career-high 24.7 points and shooting an impressive 45.1% from behind the arc. Until he returns, John Kochar should continue to benefit, with the 26-year-old logging 9.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game in 17 starts throughout the 2022-23 campaign.
Monday, December 12
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (thigh) has been deemed questionable to suit up for Monday's contest vs. Atlanta due to a sore right thigh. Morant is coming off a rough shooting performance Friday, when he went 6-for-20 overall and scored just 15 points, his second-lowest total of the season. An absence from Morant would vault Tyus Jones into the starting five and likely most DFS lineups, as Jones has averaged 20.3 points and 7.8 assists in his four games as a starter in 2022-23. Morant's combination of his ailment and the Hawks yielding the third-fewest DFS points per game to opposing point guards may keep him off many DFS radars, even if he is ultimately cleared to suit up.
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. The big man is dealing with a sprained right ankle, which will likely cost him at least one game. Brandon Clarke is in line for a spot start with Adams likely hitting the sideline. Clarke has averaged a double-double over his last two starts. That being said, Clarke appears to be a strong streaming option for Monday's slate.
Friday, December 09
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams (shoulder) is considered questionable for Friday's game against the Detroit Pistons. The veteran big man appears to be dealing with shoulder soreness, but might be able to play through it. Otherwise, head coach Taylor Jenkins will likely go with Brandon Clarke or Santi Aldama in the starting five. Between the two, Clarke is the better fantasy option. He finished with 17 points and eight rebounds during their last contest. Fantasy managers should check the waiver wire to see if Clarke is available.
Thursday, December 08
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Ziaire Williams (knee) is available for Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 21-year-old has been officially cleared to make his season debut in this game. The second-year forward does have plenty of potential, but will likely be limited right away. That being said, Williams won't be much of a fantasy option until he's back up to full speed. Once at full health, Williams is probably worth rostering in deep leagues, but it depends on how much playing time he receives.
Monday, December 05
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (rest) won't suit up for Monday's game against the Miami Heat. The 23-year-old continues to work up his conditioning following offseason foot surgery. This is the second game of a back-to-back set, so it makes sense that the Grizzlies would have Jackson sit out. Steven Adams will return after sitting out on Sunday, while Brandon Clarke should remain in the starting five. Fantasy managers should check to see if Clarke is available because he'll be a strong streaming option for Monday.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (ankle) is considered doubtful for Monday's game against the Miami Heat. The 23-year-old was fantastic on Sunday, but apparently suffered a left ankle injury along the way. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Grizzlies take the cautious approach and rest Morant on Monday. That being said, Tyus Jones would move into the starting five and be a popular streaming option for Monday's slate. Fantasy managers should check the waiver wire and see if Jones is available.
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams (hip) has been lifted from the team's injury report ahead of Monday's game against Miami. Adams missed one game due to a hip ailment, but his return comes at a much-needed time with the Grizzlies set to face widespread absences Monday. While the Heat have been tremendous at limiting opposing centers' DFS production (second-lowest per game average), Adams' rebounding ability makes him virtually matchup-proof. The 29-year-old has nabbed double-digit boards in six straight contests and is on pace to set a new career high with 11.2 rebounds per game this season.
Thursday, December 01
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks (thigh) has officially been listed as questionable for the team's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. The 26-year-old has yet to miss any time since returning from his previous injury at the start of the season. He's been averaging the most minutes of his career and has come up big for the team while Ja Morant and Desmond Bane have spent some time on the sidelines. If he can't play, a mix of John Konchar, David Roddy, and Tyus Jones will see some added playing time. All three could be in the mix for solid streaming options.
Tuesday, November 22
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (ankle) was listed as doubtful earlier on Tuesday but has received an upgrade to questionable just a few hours away from tipoff. That's promising news even if he doesn't suit up for this game. It seems like he should be back either for Tuesday's game or their next one. If he remains sidelined, Tyus Jones should serve as a great streaming option while Dillon Brooks will continue to see more usage than normal.
Sunday, November 20
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (ankle) is listed as week-to-week after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 left ankle sprain. The Memphis star was hurt in Friday's win over Oklahoma City, and his absence is set to leave the team in some trouble now, with Desmond Bane (toe) also having recently been ruled out for at least two weeks. Morant is a usage monster and a number of players should benefit from his absence. Tyus Jones is set to be the starting point guard, while the likes of John Konchar and Dillon Brooks should get more shots.
Saturday, November 19
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant had a double-double in Friday's win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, finishing with 19 points and 11 assists while adding seven rebounds. Unfortunately, Morant would exit this one late in the fourth quarter after rolling his left ankle, requiring assistance off the court. He will likely undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury. However, things don't look promising, so there is a good chance he won't be available on Sunday in Brooklyn. If that's the case, Tyus Jones is expected to replace him in the lineup, with the 26-year-old averaging 20.0 points, 7.5 assists, 2.5 steals, and shooting 44.4% from deep in two starts this season.
Wednesday, November 16
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. (foot) will play and start Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Jackson is making his season debut, but there has been no reports of a minutes restriction so far. Jackson's return will likely mean less minutes for John Konchar and Santi Aldama. However, with Desmond Bane (toe) out for the next two-to-three weeks, they should all have decent roles moving forward.
Tuesday, November 15
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies center Jaren Jackson Jr. (foot) has officially been listed as questionable to make his season debut on Tuesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. The 23-year-old big man underwent surgery on his right foot to address a stress fracture in the offseason. After a four- to six-month recovery process, he's on the cusp of playing again for the 9-5 Grizzlies. Last season, Jackson averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 2.3 blocks per game while being named to the All-Defensive first team. Once he does get back into the rotation, he would be a must-add, if he's not rostered already, in all fantasy formats.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane (toe) has officially been diagnosed with a Grade 2 sprain of his right big toe. He will be re-evaluated in two-to-three weeks. This is tough news for a Grizzlies team that was enjoying a lot of success from their starting backcourt. Bane, especially after a great start to the season so far, has been a fantastic contributor in all fantasy formats. Hopefully, this doesn't turn into a turf toe situation that keeps him out even longer. Fantasy managers will have to keep watch of his timetable and return here for more news as his recovery moves forward.
Monday, November 14
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (ankle) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Tuesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. This is great news that Morant is able to get back on the court. He was forced to sit out on Sunday due to left ankle soreness, but it appears he's feeling better now. Tyus Jones is expected to head to the bench and will lose most of his streaming appeal with Morant returning on Tuesday.
Sunday, November 13
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane (toe) isn't expected to play against the Wizards on Sunday. The 24-year-old has averaged 24.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and shot 45.1% from deep this season, so hopefully, he's out for only one game. John Konchar is the favorite to take Bane's spot in the lineup if he doesn't suit up. Konchar has averaged 9.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in four starts in 2022-23, giving him some upside for fantasy managers in all formats.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (ankle) is doubtful ahead of Sunday's meeting with the Wizards. Morant has a sore left ankle, so head coach Taylor Jenkins will likely play it safe and keep him out for this one. With Desmond Bane (toe) also unlikely to suit up, Dillon Brooks, Tyus Jones, and John Konchar should lead the way offensively. However, David Roddy and Brandon Clarke may also benefit immensely.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane (toe) has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Washington Wizards. The 24-year-old will sit this one out due to right toe soreness, but hopefully won't miss significant time. John Konchar will make a spot start and see his fantasy value significantly increase on Sunday. Also, Dillon Brooks will have a higher usage, but he has been boom-or-bust at times. Tyus Jones could be the biggest winner here with Bane and Ja Morant (ankle) out on Sunday.
Thursday, November 10
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (foot) has progressed to doing 5-on-5 workouts. The 23-year-old began doing 3-on-3 workouts earlier this month, so it appears he's continuing to move forward. Despite that, head coach Taylor Jenkins says this is baby steps for the young forward. The team hasn't given a timetable for his return, which means it probably won't be anytime soon. Brandon Clarke should continue to see a boost in playing time while Jackson is sidelined. It sounds like fantasy managers are going to be without Jackson for a bit longer.
Wednesday, November 09
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams (ankle) is questionable Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs. Adams suffered an ankle sprain Sunday and was unable to play Monday, but seems to be trending in the right direction. Adams was a true game-time decision on Monday so he will likely be a game-time decision again Wednesday. Brandon Clarke got the spot start Monday and would likely run with the starting five again if Adams does indeed sit.
Tuesday, November 08
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams (ankle) won't play on Monday night versus the visiting Celtics. The veteran has a sprained right ankle, although it's unknown if he'll be back against San Antonio on Wednesday. Brandon Clarke will take his place in the starting lineup and offers plenty of upside for managers in all formats.
Thursday, November 03
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams (jaw) will suit up for Wednesday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. He left early on Monday due to a jaw injury but appears good enough to play on Wednesday. Despite leaving early, Adams did lead his team in rebounds during Monday's game. The 29-year-old isn't a great scorer, but he is a solid source of rebounds. Fantasy managers can go ahead and get Adams back in their lineups.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane (ankle) will suit up for Wednesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. He missed Monday's game due to an ankle issue, but appears good to go here. Steven Adams (jaw) and Jake LaRavia (illness) will also suit up despite both being listed as questionable. Fantasy managers can go ahead and get Bane and Adams back in their lineups. Both Adams and Bane should see their normal workloads on Wednesday.
Monday, October 31
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (illness) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Utah Jazz. The 23-year-old is suffering from a non-COVID illness that already kept him out of Saturday's game. Morant has enjoyed a great start to the season up until having to miss some time. If he does miss another game, Tyus Jones would be a must-play in all fantasy formats.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Utah Jazz. The Grizzlies could be extremely shorthanded with Ja Morant (illness) also listed as questionable. That being said, Dillon Brooks could be asked to play heavy minutes on Monday. He would be an interesting fantasy option, assuming Bane and Morant are unable to play. John Konchar would likely see more minutes as well, but is more of a deep league option.
Sunday, October 30
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (illness) won't play on Saturday against the Jazz. Morant is dealing with a non-COVID-related illness, so his next chance at suiting up will happen on Monday for the rematch with Utah. In the meantime, Tyus Jones will take his place, with the 26-year-old averaging 10.8 points, 6.6 points, and 2.8 rebounds as a starter during his career.
Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward John Konchar (shoulder) will play against the Jazz. The 26-year-old didn't play on Thursday versus the Sacramento Kings due to shoulder soreness. However, he is good to go and will be tasked with providing more firepower for a Grizzlies team that won't have Ja Morant (illness) on Saturday night
Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones will start on Saturday night against Utah. Ja Morant (illness) is out, so Jones will be tasked with handling the point guard duties. He's played well as a starter during his career, averaging 10.8 points, 6.6 assists, and 2.8 rebounds, making him a must-start in all formats.
Friday, October 28
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward John Konchar (shoulder) will not play Thursday night against the Sacramento Kings. Konchar was questionable to play with shoulder soreness, but will not be able to take the court. Konchar was a popular streamer to start the season, but has since been regulated to a bench role now that Dillon Brooks is healthy. Brooks and Desmond Bane will continue to see the bulk of the minutes on the wing Thursday while David Roddy and Jake LaRavia should see more minutes off the bench.
Thursday, October 27
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Ziaire Williams (knee) is not expected to take the court anytime soon. In fact, Williams is expected to miss four-to-six weeks of action. The 21-year-old is dealing right knee soreness. It sounds like the team plans on slowly working Williams back onto the court. His absence won't make much of a difference in the rotation. John Konchar and David Roddy could see more playing time. However, it's unlikely either player gets enough minutes to warrant rostering in fantasy formats.
Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward John Konchar (shoulder) is carrying a questionable tag ahead of Thursday's game against Sacramento. He is bothered by a sore left shoulder and could sit out his first game of the season. Konchar had a pair of strong outings to start the season when he rolled with the starting unit, but Dillon Brooks made his season debut in Monday's win over Brooklyn and his return is a blow for Konchar's fantasy stock. Brooks played only 24 minutes against the Nets and the team will likely want to take it easy with him, so reserves like Tyus Jones and David Roddy should benefit if Konchar can't play.
Monday, October 24
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Ziaire Williams (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. The young forward is listed as day-to-day, so hopefully he won't miss significant time. It sounds like the Grizzlies are going to take the cautious approach and give Williams as much time as he needs to recover. In the meantime, John Konchar and David Roddy will pick up additional playing time. Neither will have much streaming appeal, assuming Dillon Brooks (thigh) is able to suit up on Monday.
Friday, October 21
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Dillon Brooks (thigh) isn't ready to make his season debut on Friday against Houston. He is dealing with left thigh soreness and it forced him to miss the team's season opener. There's a chance Brooks will be able to play in Saturday's matchup against Dallas. Brooks' injury has helped John Konchar to open the season as a starter and he put in a great shift on Wednesday against the Knicks, posting a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while also registering two assists and two steals. It will be interesting to see if he can repeat the performance on Friday.
Thursday, October 20
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks (thigh) has been listed as doubtful for the team's game on Friday night. He had a similar tag going into their game against the New York Knicks on Wednesday and he ended up not playing. The Grizzlies continue to be without Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ziaire Williams on top of that. Fantasy managers who drafted the 26-year-old will have to wait a little longer to see him on the court. His offense is sorely needed, as the team almost blew a big-time lead to the Knicks.
Wednesday, October 19
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Ziaire Williams (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's contest against the Knicks. The 21-year-old is dealing with right knee soreness, although it's unknown if he'll be healthy enough for Friday's meeting with the Houston Rockets. Nonetheless, with Dillon Brooks (thigh) doubtful, the lineup may be shuffled around, resulting in Tyus Jones and John Konchar getting more involved than initially expected. While Jones has a higher fantasy ceiling, Konchar can get hot offensively when given a chance.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks (thigh) is doubtful ahead of the season opener against the Knicks. Ziaire Williams (knee) has already been ruled out, so there's a chance John Konchar could make his way into the starting line. While Konchar is a risky fantasy option, there is upside there for desperate fantasy managers.
Monday, October 17
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke signed a four-year, $52 million contract extension with the team on Sunday night. After a solid year coming off of the bench, the 26-year-old big man gets his payday. He averaged 10.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 blocks per game on 64.4% shooting from the field. Clarke was the steadying presence for the Grizzlies bench. Fantasy managers should roster him for the start of the season since Jaren Jackson Jr. is expected to miss a chunk of time. Since Kyle Anderson isn't on the roster anymore as well, this is going to open up a lot of minutes for Clarke.
Sunday, October 16
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane had his 2023-24 rookie scale contract option exercised by the team. The 24-year-old is coming off a breakout season, averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 steals while shooting an impressive 43.6% from downtown. With the latest move, the Grizzlies will receive Bane's services at a discounted rate, especially since he'll likely command a hefty contract down the line.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Santi Aldama had his 2023-24 option picked up by the team on Saturday. As a rookie, the 21-year-old averaged just 4.1 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting a hideous 12.5% from deep in 32 games last season. While those numbers aren't the best by any means, Aldama is projected to hold things down at the four spot while Jaren Jackson Jr. (foot) is sidelined. As a result, he's worth a roster spot in deeper formats, although Brandon Clarke may still outproduce him from off the bench.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Ziaire Williams had his 2023-24 rookie scale contract option picked up by the team on Saturday. The No. 10 overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft averaged 8.1 points in 62 appearances last season. However, he played better in his 31 appearances in the starting lineup, logging 9.9 points while adding 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists. Nonetheless, with De'Anthony Melton and Kyle Anderson no longer on the roster, Williams is expected to take on a more prominent role this season. With that said, he likely won't be a consistent fantasy option, and his 31.4% shooting from deep will need to improve, or it will negatively impact category managers.
Friday, October 14
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams (neck) was lifted early during Thursday's preseason matchup against the Detroit Pistons. The big man was pulled from this contest due to soreness in his neck. The severity of the issue is unknown, which puts a question mark in his status for opening night. Fantasy managers will have to check back for another update on Adams. Until then, Brandon Clarke and Santi Aldama will get more run, but Clarke is the much better fantasy option between the two of them.
Sunday, October 02
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams agreed to a two-year, $25.2 million contract extension. The 29-year-old was entering the final year of his previous deal, so he is now committed to Memphis for the next three seasons. Adams finished the 2021-22 campaign by averaging 10.0 rebounds and 6.9 points. He also played 76 games, the most since the 2018-2019 season. The big man could be a double-double threat, especially early in the year while Jaren Jackson Jr. (foot) works his way back from surgery. However, Adams usually doesn't play a ton of minutes each game, and his lack of consistent scoring may be frustrating for fantasy managers at times.
