TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks center Christian Wood (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. He suffered a sprained right ankle on Thursday, so he'll miss at least one game because of the injury. Dwight Powell is likely to move into the starting five with both Maxi Kleber and Wood sidelined on Saturday. The increased playing time is what is going to make Powell an intriguing fantasy option for Saturday's slate. Although, Powell is more of a deep league option than anything else.
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (ankle) was forced to exit Saturday's matchup against Portland after spraining his left ankle. He got hurt in the fourth quarter and finished with 10 points, two rebounds and one assist in 32 minutes. Hardaway Jr. struggled all night, but he has been a very productive player since the start of last month and will be a big miss if he has to spend some time on the sideline. Jaden Hardy finished the game in his place on Saturday and Reggie Bullock, who was a superb 8-for-10 from deep during a 24-point night, could get a bigger role offensively.
Friday, January 13
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard Reggie Bullock will move into the starting five for Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The rest of the starting unit will remain unchanged from Tuesday's contest. In a corresponding move, Dwight Powell (hip) heads to the bench despite being cleared to play. There is no word on Powell being limited, but he won't have great streaming value off the bench. Bullock gets the starting nod, but his struggled from the floor lately. Fantasy managers are better off looking elsewhere for production on Thursday.
Wednesday, January 11
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (ankle) will make his return from a one-game absence to face the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. Doncic missed last game due to ankle soreness but was in no danger of missing another given his probable tag. Doncic should not have any limitations but may see some maintenance days moving forward if his ankle continues to cause discomfort. Reggie Bullock will likely return to the bench and lose most of his short-lived fantasy value.
Sunday, January 08
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This doesn't come as a surprise considering Doncic played through his ankle injury on Saturday. Afterwards, Doncic mentioned his left ankle was very sore. The Mavericks are going to be cautious and hold Doncic out of the second leg of this back-to-back set. Spencer Dinwiddie and Tim Hardaway Jr. should see bigger roles with Doncic on the sideline. Both of them have streaming appeal while Doncic is off the court.
Wednesday, January 04
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks small forward Josh Green (elbow) has still not yet been cleared for contact during practice, putting him on the shelf for a further period of time due a sprained right elbow. Green last suited up Dec. 9 and his absence has paved the way for Frank Ntilikina to garner a second unit role, albeit while scuffling mightily from the field (33.3 percent overall). Prior to the injury, Green was earning a career-best 20.3 minutes per night, while shooting 58.3 percent and averaging seven PPG. Further updates will be provided on Green's status as he works his way toward a return.
Saturday, December 31
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (ankle) is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Spurs. The 2015 Rookie of the Year has averaged a triple-double in his last five outings while leading the Mavs to a five-game winning streak. With Dallas looking to keep moving up the standings in the Western Conference, Doncic will likely do what it takes to get on the floor. However, if Jason Kidd decides to rest him, Spencer Dinwiddie and Christian Wood will be asked to do the heavy lifting on offense.
Tuesday, December 27
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks forward Dorian Finney-Smith (adductor) is out again for Tuesday's game versus the New York Knicks. With Maxi Kleber (hamstring) out indefinitely, Reggie Bullock and Davis Bertans will likely continue to receive additional work. However, neither man has done much from a statistical standpoint this season, so fantasy managers in deep formats should look elsewhere for a Finney-Smith replacement.
Dallas Mavericks forward Dorian Finney-Smith (groin) will remain out for at least the next two weeks. Finney-Smith has not played since Dec. 19 and will not play until the new calendar year while he continues to rehab an adductor strain. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Reggie Bullock have been working in the starting lineup and will likely continue to do so in the coming weeks. Hardaway holds more fantasy value but is still a streaky shooter, while Bullock is more of a three-point streamer.
Dallas Mavericks guards Kemba Walker (knee) and Frank Ntilikina (knee) are both available to play Tuesday against the New York Knicks. Walker has been out due to injury management and head coach Jason Kidd said Walker will likely have his minutes managed moving forward. Ntilikina will return from a one-game absence after being upgraded from questionable with his own knee soreness. Both Walker and Ntilikina will back up star Luka Doncic and would need an injury to Doncic to have fantasy value.
Thursday, December 22
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks forward Dorian Finney-Smith (groin) won't play on Wednesday against Minnesota. The 29-year-old was injured in Monday's first game of back-to-back outings versus the Timberwolves, allowing Davis Bertans to finish with 18 points off 6-for-9 shooting from deep. While Bertans won't be starting, he should get enough minutes off the bench to warrant a start in all fantasy setups.
Tuesday, December 20
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks forward Dorian Finney-Smith (groin) was injured during Monday night's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Mavs were already entering this one without Tim Hardaway Jr. (illness), Dwight Powell (thigh) and Maxi Kleber (hamstring), so adding another player to the growing list wouldn't be ideal. The 29-year-old has started in all 30 of his games this season, averaging 8.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals. It's possible he'll miss time moving ahead, and depending on who is healthy for Dallas, Davis Bertans, who finished with 18 points off 6-for-9 shooting from deep, could become a popular waiver-wire option in category leagues.
Monday, December 19
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (quadriceps) is questionable for Monday's meeting with Minnesota. The 23-year-old didn't play in Saturday's loss to Cleveland because of a right quad strain, allowing Kemba Walker to log 42 minutes and finish with 32 points. If Doncic misses another one, Walker will probably get another crack at the starting lineup. Considering how well he played versus the Cavs, he deserves fantasy consideration in all formats.
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (quad) has been upgraded to probable for Monday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The star guard was listed as questionable on Sunday, but has been upgraded since then. Doncic has been dealing with a lingering quad injury, but appears to be doing better now. Kemba Walker is expected to move to the bench and would see significantly less minutes with Doncic healthy. Spencer Dinwiddie would be the primary backup guard to Doncic.
Saturday, December 17
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks center Dwight Powell suffered a left thigh contusion in Friday's game against Portland and had to exit after playing for only 12 minutes. Whilst on the court, the 31-year-old was able to notch five points with two rebounds, one assist and one steal. Dallas plays again Saturday against Cleveland and head coach Jason Kidd has said that Powell is "probably out" for the contest. It's a bad blow for Powell, but it's great news for Christian Wood, who started the second half in Powell's place. Unless Kidd has some strange thoughts, Wood should be a starter again Saturday, and that sets him up nicely for a big performance. He already crushed it with 32 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks Friday. The injury also allows JaVale McGee to re-enter the rotation.
Thursday, December 15
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks forward/center Maxi Kleber has been diagnosed with a torn hamstring, and the team has ruled him out indefinitely. Kleber has already been dealing with a knee sprain and the hamstring tear is a further blow for him. The 30-year-old German has played a big part in the second unit this season, averaging 25.6 minutes per game. He's been getting 6.2 points and 3.5 rebounds with 1.0 blocks. Christian Wood and Davis Bertans should soak in most of Kleber's minutes while he's out.
Wednesday, December 14
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks power forward Maxi Kleber (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game vs. Cleveland due to a sprained right knee. Kleber has been a consistent contributor of Dallas' second unit thus far in 2022-23, averaging 6.2 PPG while shooting a career-best 49 percent overall from the field. His absence will open up minutes on the second unit for Davis Bertans and other members of the Mavericks' frontcourt. Attempting just 4.7 field goals per game this season, Kleber likely remains on the outside looking in of all season-long formats. His next chance to suit up comes Friday against the Trail Blazers.
Sunday, December 11
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (quad) is listed as probable for Monday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The superstar guard played 37 minutes on Friday before sitting out of Saturday's loss to the Chicago Bulls. The expectation is that Doncic will return on Monday after having a rest day. His return would likely send Christian Wood to the bench, but fantasy managers will have to check back on Monday.
Dallas Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber (foot) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The veteran forward was held out of Saturday's game due to right foot soreness. His absence resulted in more playing time for JaVale McGee and Davis Bertans. Surprisingly, McGee put up 18 points with eight rebounds in the absence of Kleber. However, he won't be a reliable streaming option if Kleber does end up missing another game.
Tuesday, November 22
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard Spencer Dinwiddie (shoulder) is officially listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics. He's dealing with shoulder soreness in his non-shooting arm. The 29-year-old has been one of the top scoring options behind Luka Doncic for this team so his absence could hold a big impact. If he can't suit up, Tim Hardaway Jr. will likely make an appearance in the starting lineup while we may see some more time for Facundo Campazzo as well.
Friday, November 18
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks small forward Reggie Bullock (neck) has been tagged as questionable to play in Friday's game vs. the Nuggets due to a strained neck. The sharpshooter has scuffled mightily by his standards from long range this season, knocking down just 29.2% from deep; he went 0-for-6 en route to a scoreless performance in his most recent appearance Wednesday. An absence from Bullock on the wing would open up more shots for Tim Hardaway Jr. and Spencer Dinwiddie, while Josh Green would likely step into an elevated role. Fantasy managers will want to confirm Bullock's status prior to tip as he has yet to miss a game this year and has been an integral part of Dallas' starting five.
Wednesday, November 16
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks forward/center Maxi Kleber (back) will not return Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Kleber had a hard fall on his back and went to the locker room, but eventually returned to the game. It seems the pain was too much as Kleber was ruled out for the rest of the game shortly after. With JaVale McGee (neck) already out, Christian Wood should see big minutes as the team's center.
Dallas Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber (back) and JaVale McGee (neck) are out for Wednesday's meeting with the Rockets. Luka Doncic (rest) won't play either, and the Mavs will also be shorthanded underneath the basket, allowing Christian Would to see plenty of minutes and scoring opportunities. At the same time, Dwight Powell, who has averaged 7.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in six starts this season, is expected to enter the starting lineup.
Tuesday, November 15
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Reggie Bullock (neck) is questionable to play Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Bullock was limited to a season-low 17 minutes on Saturday and is in danger of missing his first game of the season. If Bullock is unable to go, look for Tim Hardaway Jr. and Josh Green to pick up the slack on Tuesday. Hardaway would be a good stream for points and threes while Green is more of a steals streamer.
Sunday, November 13
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks center Christian Wood (knee) is available for Saturday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The expectation is that Wood will resume his role as the sixth-man in Dallas. The Mavericks don't have many reliable scoring options, so Wood should continue getting chances with the ball in his hands. He has been a bit disappointing this season, but fantasy managers should continue to hold him for the moment. The 27-year-old should have his normal workload on Saturday.
Saturday, November 12
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks center Christian Wood (knee) is expected to return on Saturday versus Portland. The 27-year-old missed his previous two games because of a right knee sprain, allowing Dwight Powell to get some additional action. Wood has averaged 15.6 points and 7.8 rebounds this season, a dip from his numbers in 2021-22. While fantasy managers are hoping to get a little more out of Wood moving ahead, category participants have certainly benefitted from his 46.2% shooting from deep.
Wednesday, November 09
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks forward/center Christian Wood (knee) will not play Wednesday against the Orlando Magic, and his status is in jeopardy for Thursday's game as well. Wood is reportedly dealing with a knee sprain and is currently not traveling with the team. Given the two-game road trip, Wood may not play Thursday either. With Wood sidelined, JaVale McGee and Maxi Kleber will likely see increased roles.
Dallas Mavericks forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (hip) is officially listed as questionable on Wednesday. The 30-year-old veteran suffered a hip strain against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday when he slipped and fell awkwardly. It doesn't seem to be too severe of an injury, but the Mavericks are probably being a little cautious for this game against the Orlando Magic. While he's out, Josh Green should see increased minutes as he did against Brooklyn. He'll serve as a good streaming option for those fantasy managers that might need one.
Tuesday, November 08
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (hip) exited Monday's game against Brooklyn. He did not return. The 30-year-old slipped on a slick surface of the court and was ruled out shortly after with a strained left hip. It's unknown if Hardaway will be available for Wednesday's meeting with the Magic. However, if he isn't, Josh Green may see additional minutes. Green scored a season-high 16 points while compiling five rebounds and two assists versus the Nets, so he will have streaming appeal in deep fantasy formats if Hardaway can't suit up.
Thursday, November 03
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks forward/center Davis Bertans (knee) has been ruled out for another game ahead of Friday's clash with Toronto. He has yet to play this season because of right knee effusion. Once regarded as one of the league's best snipers, Bertans has gone through a couple of bad seasons and it looks like 2022-23 won't be any better for him either. The Mavericks have also ruled Frank Ntilikina (ankle) out of Friday's contest. He is still waiting for a chance to make his season debut as well.
Tuesday, November 01
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks forward/center Christian Wood (illness) has officially been listed as questionable for Wednesday's home game with a non-COVID illness. If he does miss the contest, it would be the 27-year-old's first missed game of the season so far. This comes as promising news since fantasy managers have had to endure some injury-riddled seasons lately. Both Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell should soak up the vacated minutes if he is indeed out for this game.
Thursday, October 27
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot) is questionable for Thursday's matchup against Brooklyn. He's dealing with right foot soreness and already missed Tuesday's loss to New Orleans. Spencer Dinwiddie picked up a bunch of extra minutes against the Pelicans and should do the same on Thursday if Hardaway Jr. remains sidelined. The former Net has enjoyed a strong start for the season and even had a nice 24-point outing last time out.
Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot) is officially active for Thursday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. After a one-game absence, he'll make his return to help out the offense alongside Luka Doncic. The 30-year-old hasn't shot the ball particularly well so far. If there's anyone to get back on track against, it would be the Nets, who have had one of the worst defenses in the league so far. Right now, fantasy managers should wait for some more consistent production before adding Hardaway to their rosters.
Tuesday, October 25
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. It seems as though he's just facing some foot soreness and is probably going to receive a rest day. In his two games this season, he's averaging 12.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists on just 30% shooting from the floor. In category formats, he's usually good for some points, rebounds and three-point shooting. He may just need some time to shake the rust off after missing half of last season.
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot) will not play Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Hardaway was doubtful coming into the night so this should not come as a big surprise. Hardaway missed a large amount of games last season due to a foot injury, but thankfully this is not the same foot. Reggie Bullock should continue to start on the wing and newcomer Facundo Campazzo may pick up extra minutes in his season debut Tuesday. Given Hardaway's status, he could be leaning towards doubtful for their next game on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets.
Thursday, October 20
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Dallas Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber (illness) will be available for Wednesday's season opener against the Phoenix Suns. The 30-year-old is dealing with a minor illness, but it won't be enough to hold him out of this contest. He recently signed a three-year $33 million extension with the organization. The expectation is that Kleber is going to have a significant role in Dallas. However, Christian Wood and JaVale McGee are likely going to cut into his playing time. Kleber is looking more like a deep league asset right now, but could have standard league value depending on his role.
