| | Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tony Gonsolin (forearm) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday. According to manager Dave Roberts, the 28-year-old's bullpen results were "encouraging," and he feels Gonsolin can come back and contribute "in some capacity" this year. The right-hander owns a 16-1 record with a 2.10 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and a 116:35 K: BB across 128 1/3 innings in 2022. Gonsolin will continue to build up his workload and look to return before the end of the year. Fantasy managers with an open IL spot should continue to stash Gonsolin. |
| | Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said pitcher Blake Treinen (shoulder) threw a "normal" bullpen session on Wednesday and could face live hitters soon. He was recently activated from the injured list but quickly returned to the IL after experiencing shoulder tightness. The 34-year-old is eligible to come off the injured list next week. This year, he has been limited to five innings due to a shoulder injury. Once activated, Treinen is expected to be used in a high-leverage role. Fantasy managers with an open IL spot can continue to stash Treinen for now. |
| | Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux (back) will get live at-bats at Camelback Ranch in Arizona on Thursday and will rejoin the Dodgers on Friday. He's expected to play in the series against the division-rival San Francisco Giants this weekend. The 24-year-old hasn't played for the Dodgers since Sept. 1 due to a back injury, but he's nearing his return to the major-league lineup. With Lux injured recently, Chris Taylor has seen most of the playing time at the keystone in LA, with Joey Gallo getting more at-bats in left field. In 369 at-bats for the Dodgers in 2022, Lux is slashing a strong .293/.368/.428 with six home runs, 42 RBI, 62 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 418 plate appearances and 115 games in his fourth big-league campaign. |
| | Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher David Price (wrist) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday. It was the first time Price has thrown off a mound since he landed on the injured list on Sept. 4 with left wrist inflammation. Despite dealing with wrist problems for a while before that, the 37-year-old southpaw has gone 2-0 with a solid 2.58 ERA (3.84 FIP), a 1.17 WHIP, one save and 37 strikeouts in 38 1/3 relief innings for the Blue this year. Barring a setback, Price expects to return from the injured list before the end of the regular season, so they should have him available as a lefty specialist out of the bullpen for the postseason. |
| | Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Yency Almonte (elbow) threw 25 pitches of live batting practice to infielder Gavin Lux (neck) on Wednesday. Almonte looked good during the session and could be ready to rejoin the Dodgers bullpen sooner than later. However, the 28-year-old will throw at least one more simulated game before potentially going on a minor league rehab assignment. In his first year in LA, Almonte has been excellent in his 31 1/3 relief innings, posting a career-low 1.15 ERA (3.27 FIP), a 0.89 WHIP, one save and a 30:10 K:BB. |
