		The Los Angeles Dodgers and pitcher Dustin May agreed to a one-year, $1.675 million contract to avoid salary arbitration. His career has been plagued with injuries, but a healthy Dustin May is not a pitcher you want to face in the batter's box. He has made just 11 starts over the past two seasons, but the Dodgers hope to get him healthy for 2023. May made his season debut in August after recovering from Tommy John surgery. In his six starts in 2022, the 25-year-old displayed a 4.50 ERA along with 29 strikeouts and a 4.38 FIP. If May can stay healthy for the bulk of 2023, he will be included in the Dodgers' five-man rotation consisting of Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias, Tony Gonsolin, and Noah Syndergaard. If everything goes right for the right-hander, he should be a reliable contributor in the fantasy world.
		The Los Angeles Dodgers and right-handed reliever Yency Almonte avoided arbitration after agreeing to a one-year, $1.5 million contract. The 28-year-old signed with the Dodgers on a minor-league deal before 2022 but missed roughly two months due to elbow inflammation. Although, his 2022 campaign may have been his best performance yet. He spent four seasons with the Rockies and compiled a 5.30 ERA through four seasons. It appears that a change of scenery has flipped the script. Almonte posted a 1.02 ERA with a 3.17 FIP across 33 appearances. If Almonte can mirror his 2022 campaign and stay healthy, he should undoubtedly be considered for deep-league formats.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers and left-handed starting pitcher Julio Urias agreed to a one-year, $14.25 million deal to avoid salary arbitration on Friday. The 26-year-old southpaw deserves the big raise after another excellent season for the Dodgers in 2022. Urias went 17-7 with a league-best 2.16 ERA (3.71 FIP), 0.96 WHIP and 24.1 percent strikeout rate in 175 innings over 31 starts. He also led the league with a 194 ERA+ and finished third in the National League Cy Young voting. After two straight strong seasons for the Blue, Urias is locked in as a low-end fantasy ace/high-end No. 2 for the 2023 season.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers and catcher Will Smith avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $5.25 million deal, according to sources. Smith had another very strong year as the Dodgers' primary catcher in 2022, slashing .260/.343/.465 with an .807 OPS, 24 home runs, a career-high 87 RBI, 68 runs scored and a stolen base in 578 plate appearances over a career-high 137 games. He now has 49 home runs in the last two years and has become one of the most attractive fantasy backstops in the game in one of the best lineups in baseball.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired shortstop Miguel Rojas from the Miami Marlins on Wednesday in exchange for shortstop prospect Jacob Amaya. Rojas had an underwhelming year at the plate for the Fish in 2022 while dealing with a wrist injury that eventually required surgery, but he's always been more of a glove-first player to begin with. The 33-year-old veteran moves to a much better lineup in LA, which will make him slightly more attractive as a fantasy middle infielder in deeper leagues if he's playing every day. The Dodgers lost star shortstop Trea Turner in free agency and are expected to give Gavin Lux a shot at the 6, so it's possible that Rojas ends up playing more regularly at the keystone for the Blue.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers signed free-agent catcher David Freitas to a minor-league deal on Thursday. Freitas didn't reach the major leagues in 2022 after signing a minor-league deal with the New York Yankees. In 36 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, he hit .239/.310/.345 with a .655 OPS, two home runs, nine RBI and nine runs scored in 127 plate appearances before being released in July. The 33-year-old veteran backstop hasn't played in the big leagues since 2019 with the Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers. He's played in 59 big-league contests over three seasons, hitting .200/.268/.288 with a homer, eight RBI and 13 runs scored. Freitas will simply be providing minor-league catching depth for LA behind Will Smith, Austin Barnes and Diego Cartaya.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers signed free agent designated hitter J.D. Martinez to a one-year, $10 million contract on Saturday. He reunites with hitting coach Robert Von Scoyoc and former Boston Red Sox teammate Mookie Betts. After smashing at least 28 homers in four of the last five seasons, the 35-year-old is coming off a down year, slashing .274/.341/.448 with 16 home runs, 62 RBI, and 76 runs over 139 games for Boston in 2022. Martinez will slot in as the Dodgers' primary designated hitter and should hit in the heart of the order with a loaded lineup that includes Freddie Freeman, Betts, and Will Smith. Martinez is in an excellent bounce-back spot and could be one of the better values in upcoming fantasy drafts.
		The Los Angeles Dodgers signed free-agent outfielder Bradley Zimmer to a minor-league deal on Saturday, according to a source. The 30-year-old center fielder has seen big-league action with the Cleveland Guardians, Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies over the last six seasons. In 2022, he spent time with the Blue Jays and Phillies, hitting just .124/.207/.229 with two home runs, five RBI, 18 runs scored and three stolen bases in 117 plate appearances and 109 games. The majority of it (100 games) came with Toronto. Zimmer will be fighting for a roster spot out of spring training and will represent left-handed-hitting outfield depth for the Blue. In his six big-league campaigns, Zimmer has slashed .213/.298/.333 with a .631 OPS, 21 home runs, 91 RBI, 121 runs and 42 stolen bases in 372 games.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired infielder Yonny Hernandez from the Oakland Athletics on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. Hernandez played in just 12 major-league games with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2022, going 2-for-24 (.083) with no home runs or RBI, two stolen bases and four strikeouts. In his rookie season in 2021 with the Texas Rangers, he slashed .217/.315/.252 with no homers, six RBI, 15 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 43 games (166 plate appearances). The 24-year-old will strictly give the Dodgers some more infield depth in the organization. The switch-hitter batted .241/.349/.324 with a homer, 31 RBI, 49 runs scored and 30 stolen bases in 71 games at two Triple-A levels in the minors last season.

		The Tampa Bay Rays designated right-handed reliever J.P. Feyereisen (shoulder) for assignment on Tuesday in order to open up a 40-man roster spot for recently acquired pitcher Zach Eflin. Feyereisen underwent surgery on his right shoulder this offseason and is slated to miss significant time next season. He could be picked up by an interested team after he didn't allow a single run in 24 1/3 innings for the Rays in 2022 while picking up a save, walking five and striking out 25 in 22 appearances (two starts). If Feyereisen clears waivers and returns to the Rays, he'll continue to rehab his shoulder until returning to a high-leverage relief role later next season.
		The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired right-handed relief pitcher J.P. Feyereisen (shoulder) from the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday in exchange for a minor-league pitcher, according to sources. The Rays designated Feyereisen for assignment on Tuesday to make room for the recently signed Zach Eflin. Feyereisen had surgery on his rotator cuff and labrum earlier this month and is expected to miss a large chunk of the 2023 season. The 29-year-old isn't expected to resume throwing for four months, so the Dodgers won't have him until later in the 2023 season. But when healthy, he could occupy a high-leverage role in LA's bullpen after he threw 24 1/3 scoreless innings with 25 strikeouts for the Rays in 2022. Feyereisen has a 2.31 career ERA with four saves and a 1.00 WHIP in three major-league seasons.
		The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a one-year deal worth $13 million with free-agent right-hander Noah Syndergaard on Wednesday. The 30-year-old is expected to join the team's starting rotation next year to help make up for the losses of Tyler Anderson and Andrew Heaney. The man they call Thor began the 2022 season with the Los Angeles Angels before being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies at the deadline in early August. In total, he went 10-10 with a 3.94 ERA (3.83 FIP) with a 1.25 WHIP and a career-low 16.8 percent strikeout rate in 134 2/3 innings over 25 appearances (24 starts). Last year was Syndergaard's first season back after having Tommy John surgery, and his velocity was noticeably down, making him mostly a league-average pitcher. He'll be hoping the Dodgers coaching staff can get him back on track in 2023.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers signed free-agent outfielder Jason Heyward to a minor-league deal on Thursday. The Chicago Cubs granted Heyward his unconditional release in November, and now he'll move his talents to LA. The 33-year-old came up with the Atlanta Braves in 2010 as one of the top outfielder prospects in the game. He was an All-Star in his rookie year and spent his first five seasons in Atlanta. After a year in St. Louis, Heyward, signed an eight-year, $184 million deal with the Cubs, but he was mostly a disappointment in his seven years with the club, hitting .245/.323/.377 with 62 homers, 289 RBI, 335 runs scored and 32 stolen bases in 744 games. In the last two seasons, he's been way worse, slashing .211/.280/.326.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers and starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw agreed to a one-year, $20 million dollar contract on Monday, per the team's Twitter account. The future Hall of Famer has spent all 15 seasons of his career with the Dodgers and will stick with them for his age-35 season. Kershaw was sharp as always when he did pitch in 2022, going 12-3 with a 2.28 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 27.8% strikeout rate in 22 starts and 126 1/3 innings pitched. However, injuries have prevented him from making at least 30 starts since 2015, which has put a relative damper on his overall fantasy value. Kershaw remains one of baseball's top starters on a start-by-start basis, which means he still offers high fantasy value even if he only makes 20-25 starts.

		The Boston Red Sox agreed to a two-year, $17.5 million deal with right-handed reliever Chris Martin on Friday, pending a physical, according to sources familiar with the deal. The 36-year-old was excellent for the Los Angeles Dodgers after a deadline trade and parlayed that performance into a multi-year deal on the open market this offseason. He began the 2022 campaign with the Chicago Cubs and had a 4.31 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 31 1/3 relief innings before joining the Dodgers in the second half. With LA, he allowed just four earned runs on 12 hits while walking one and striking out 34 hitters in 24 2/3 innings. Martin will look to help a Boston bullpen that was pretty bad last season, and he should pitch in high-leverage situations.

		MLB Network's Jon Heyman reported Tuesday that the Los Angeles Dodgers have reached an agreement for a big-league deal with pitcher Shelby Miller. Details of the deal were not disclosed. The 32-year-old righty had a solid few seasons at the beginning of his career as a starter, but he has failed to post an ERA below 4.00 since 2015. He pitched just seven innings in 2022 out of the bullpen with the Giants with a poor 6.43 ERA. It remains to be seen what role he may play with the Dodgers, but Miller still holds almost no fantasy value at this time, despite his landing spot.
		Los Angeles Dodgers right-handers Carlos Duran (elbow) and Edgardo Henriquez (elbow) both recently underwent Tommy John surgery and will miss all of the 2023 season next year. The two big, hard-throwing righties were among the team's top pitching prospects at the Single-A levels. According to MLB Pipeline, Duran is ranked as the club's No. 19 prospect, with Henriquez checking in at No. 23. In 14 outings (13 starts) for High-A Great Lakes this year, Duran had a 4.25 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 68 strikeouts and 24 walks in 48 2/3 innings. Henriquez, 20, also made 14 appearances (13 starts) for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and posted a 4.54 ERA, 1.59 WHIP, 44 strikeouts and 18 walks in 35 2/3 frames.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers added catcher Diego Cartaya, second baseman Michael Busch and outfielders Andy Pages and Jonny DeLuca to their 40-man roster on Tuesday in order to protect them from the upcoming Rule 5 draft. Cartaya is the team's top prospect heading into next season, while Busch comes in at No. 4 and Pages at No. 5, according to MLB Pipeline. Cartaya is one of the best catching prospects in all of baseball, so it's no surprise the Dodgers don't want to lose him to another club. The 21-year-old Venezuelan backstop hit a combined .254/.389/.503 with an .892 OPS, career-high 22 home runs, 72 RBI, 74 runs scored and one stolen base in 95 combined games with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and High-A Great Lakes this season.

		Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Blake Treinen (shoulder) underwent right shoulder labrum and rotator cuff repair that was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Treinen and the Dodgers were going over their options after the 2022 season, but he was unable to avoid surgery that will knock him out for all of next season. And at 34 years of age, it's reasonable to wonder if this could end Treinen's career. He battled through multiple shoulder injuries in 2022 and managed to pitch five innings all year, although he did return in the postseason to toss one inning in the National League Division Series. The rehab process should take around 10 months for Treinen, so the Dodgers won't have him available in their bullpen next season.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers and left-hander Clayton Kershaw are in agreement on a one-year deal thought to be worth close to $20 million for the 2023 season. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported Thursday night that the two sides were close to a reunion, and now it appears to be official. The future Hall of Famer had a strong 2.28 ERA with 137 strikeouts in 126 1/3 innings pitched in the regular season after signing a one-year, $17 million deal before the 2022 season. The 34-year-old southpaw missed time with back and pelvis injuries, and although he continues to pitch well when healthy, fantasy managers can't ignore his lengthy injury history in recent seasons when considering drafting him next spring. Kershaw hasn't made 30 starts since 2015, and he hasn't reached 130 innings in either of the last two years.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers and relief pitcher Blake Treinen (shoulder) are discussing the best way to move forward with the shoulder injury that kept him out for most of the 2022 season. Surgery is among the options being discussed. Treinen made only three relief appearances in April before he injured his right shoulder, and he was only able to pitch in five regular season innings due to the injury. The 34-year-old would most likely miss the start of the 2023 season if he goes under the knife at this point in the offseason. He was able to return to the Dodgers in the postseason and made one appearance in Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres, allowing a solo home run while walking two and striking out one in an inning of work.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed outfielder Luke Williams off waivers on Tuesday from the Miami Marlins. Williams spent the 2022 season with the San Francisco Giants (eight games) and the Marlins, hitting a combined .236/.287/.315 with a homer, six RBI, 21 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 136 plate appearances and 79 games in his second major-league campaign. The 26-year-old played in just 14 minor league games last year and hit .327 with a homer, eight RBI and nine stolen bases. Given how much talent the Dodgers already have in the outfield at the big-league level, Williams will most likely begin the year in the farm system with hopes of being called up later in the 2023 season.

		The Los Angeles Dodgers have not yet decided if they will tender first baseman/outfielder Cody Bellinger a contract in 2023, per the Athletic's Fabian Ardaya. The 27-year-old is under the team's control for the 2023 season, but he would immediately become a free agent if the Dodgers elected not to tender him a contract. The 2017 National League Rookie of the Year has now had three consecutive poor seasons after a solid first three seasons and slashed just .210/.265/.389 with 19 home runs, 68 RBI, and 14 stolen bases in 550 regular-season plate appearances. Fantasy managers would be happy to see Bellinger return to his old ways, and perhaps a change of scenery would help. They should keep an eye out for more developments this offseason.
		The Los Angeles Dodgers are still deciding whether they will pick up third baseman Justin Turner's $16 million team option for the 2023 season, per the Athletic's Fabian Ardaya. The 37-year-old veteran provided yet another productive regular season, slashing .278/.350/.438 with 13 home runs and 81 RBI in 532 plate appearances. Turner has been a fantasy staple for some time now, although his power production did take a hit this season. His fantasy value in 2023 will of course depend on where he ends up playing and his role, but it looks like he can still contribute in some facets if given routine playing time.

		X-rays came back negative on Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner's finger on Friday night, and he said he just jammed his finger while diving back into first base on a pickoff attempt late in the Game 3 loss to the San Diego Padres in the National League Division Series. In the first three games of the series, Turner has gone 4-for-13 with two home runs, a double, two RBI, three runs scored and four strikeouts at the plate. But he's mostly been noticed for his mishaps on defense, recording two errors already at shortstop with the Dodgers facing elimination in Game 4 on Saturday. Hopefully, his jammed finger won't negatively impact his ability to swing the lumber for the rest of the series.

		Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (neck) will get the start in left field in Game 3 of the National League Division Series on Friday against San Diego Padres left-hander Blake Snell. Taylor battled neck tightness at the end of the regular season and received a cortisone injection last week. He'll take over for Trayce Thompson, who will most likely move to center field and send Cody Bellinger to the bench against a lefty. Taylor wasn't as good this year as he was in his lone All-Star season in 2021, and he also hit .193 (23-for-119) with only two of his 10 home runs, nine RBI and 13 runs scored in 75 games against left-handed pitching in 2022. Expect Taylor to hit near the bottom of LA's lineup on Friday. He hasn't played since Sept. 30.

		Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (neck) remains out of the starting lineup for Game 2 of the National League Division Series on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres. Taylor has been dealing with a sore neck and hasn't played in a game since Sept. 30. He was not used off the bench in the team's 5-3 win over the Padres in Game 1 on Tuesday. Trayce Thompson will get another start in left field and will hit eighth in the batting order against Padres right-hander Yu Darvish. Thompson went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in the Game 1 win on Tuesday night in his first career playoff game.

		Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (neck) made the team's roster for the National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres this week, but he's not in the starting lineup for Game 1 on Tuesday. But the 32-year-old will be available as a utility bat and glove off the bench for the Dodgers to begin the series. Trayce Thompson is starting in left field for the Dodgers and is hitting eighth against Padres right-hander Mike Clevinger. Thompson, who began the year with the Padres, hit .268/.364/.537 with a .901 OPS, 13 home runs, 39 RBI, 35 runs scored and four stolen bases in 74 games with LA. He enters the postseason after going 6-for-14 with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored in his final five regular season games.

		Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (neck) has responded well to a cortisone injection that he received this week and will take live at-bats on Sunday and Monday, according to skipper Dave Roberts. If he's able to come out of those sessions healthy, he'll likely be included on the roster for the National League Division Series, which begins on Tuesday, Oct. 11. After making his first All-Star team in 2021, Taylor wasn't as good for the Dodgers this year, slashing .221/.304/.373 with 10 home runs, 43 RBI, 45 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 454 plate appearances and 118 games. But the Dodgers will be much better off in their first playoff series of 2022 if the utility man is available for them.

		Los Angeles Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts said that starting pitcher Dustin May (back) and reliever Blake Treinen (shoulder) will face live hitters on Wednesday. May isn't a lock for the National League Division Series roster, even if he shows he's healthy this coming week. Treinen is a possibility to be ready in time for the NLDS next week. May went on the injured list on Sept. 24 with lower-back tightness, but it's good news that he's making progress, so he could be an option for the rotation if the Dodgers advance to the Championship Series. The 34-year-old Treinen returned to mound work over the weekend and appears to be ahead of May in his rehab. He could be a big addition to the Dodgers bullpen for the start of the NLDS.

		Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Tony Gonsolin (forearm) has been activated from the 15-day injured list and is starting on Monday against the Colorado Rockies. In a corresponding move, Andre Jackson will head back to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Gonsolin was sidelined for over a month with a right forearm strain, but he'll get a little tune-up on Monday for one last start in the regular season. The 28-year-old was only able to throw two innings on a minor league rehab start, so fantasy managers still playing for something this week shouldn't expect much length from the returning starter. In his last four starts in August before getting injured, Gonsolin allowed just two earned runs on 10 hits while striking out 20 and walking seven in 23 2/3 frames.

Taylor has hit just .221/.304/.373 this year with 10 home runs, 43 RBI, 45 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 402 at-bats. As a first-time All-Star in 2021, he hit .254 with 20 homers, 73 RBI and 13 steals in 148 regular season games.

		Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Andre Jackson has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Jackson is taking the place of Michael Grove, who was placed on the injured list. The 26-year-old reliever has a 0.00 ERA over 5 2/3 innings of relief at the big league level this season. He'll give the Dodgers some bullpen depth over the final stretch of the regular season.
		Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Michael Grove (knee) has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a left knee contusion. The 25-year-old right-hander put together a 4.60 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 24:10 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings (seven appearances, six starts). He's got a shot to come back if the Dodgers make a deep run in the postseason but his regular season is finished. Andre Jackson was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
		Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Blake Treinen (shoulder) was able to play catch without any issues on Sunday. The 34-year-old is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Monday. The right-hander has been sidelined since early September due to tightness in his pitching shoulder. It sounds like Treinen is making progress and could return for the start of the postseason. This would be a nice boost for the Dodgers who have been without Treinen for a majority of the season.

		Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said third baseman Justin Turner (leg) would probably be out for a few days. He fouled a ball off his last week, then aggravated it again on a slide in Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres. The 37-year-old is experiencing swelling in his shin. It's unclear how many games the veteran will miss and is considered day-to-day. The Dodgers will also likely get a team option for the 2024 season worth around $6.5 million on Hudson. Hudson isn't going to be the Dodgers closer next year, but he should see a handful of chances and will remain relevant in holds leagues if he continues to pitch well.

Anderson is very attractive in fantasy as part of what will be a two-start week against Arizona and the St. Louis Cardinals. The 32-year-old veteran southpaw has been a must-start in fantasy in 2022, going 15-3 with a 2.62 ERA (3.41 FIP), a 1.03 WHIP and a 119:32 K:BB in 161 2/3 innings over his 27 appearances (25 starts) for the Blue. The first-time All-Star needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups for Game 2 against the D-backs.
		Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner (back) left the first game of a doubleheader early against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday after he was hit in the back by a throw in the fifth inning. The Dodgers most definitely want the 34-year-old to be healthy for a lengthy playoff run, so they won't rush him back too soon, especially since he's had back problems in the past. When he returns, he'll come back to a 7-3 record, 2.64 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 88 strikeouts and only 15 walks in 85 1/3 innings pitched over 15 starts.

		Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux (neck) remains out of the starting lineup Friday but could return Saturday. Lux has been dealing with a stiff neck since Tuesday, which has held him out of the Dodgers' last three games. He was able to hit in the batting cages today, though, and the team is hopeful that he will return Saturday. Even if he doesn't, it appears as though his return isn't far away. Lux has had a nice breakout season, and an even nicer second half, in which he is slashing .312/.381/.505 with two homers and two steals over 105 plate appearances. He should be owned in any standard or deeper league formats, especially point leagues.

		Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tommy Kahnle (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. The 33-year-old missed the 2021 season after he underwent Tommy John surgery in August 2020. He returned to action in May before suffering a forearm strain and has been sidelined since. According to manager Dave Roberts, a roster decision on the right-hander will come in the next two weeks. Kahnle owned a 6.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and five strikeouts over four innings before landing on the injured list in 2022.

Wednesday, August 24

		Los Angeles Dodgers' second baseman Gavin Lux (neck) was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Milwaukee Brewers. According to manager Dave Roberts, Lux has a neck issue and will be out of the lineup on Tuesday and Wednesday. The 24-year-old is considered day-to-day, but the injury is not severe enough for Lux to warrant a trip to the injured list. He has been solid in 2022, slashing .297/.373/.439 with six home runs, 39 RBI, 60 runs, and seven stolen bases over 400 plate appearances in 110 games. Chris Taylor will handle second base duties while Lux is sidelined.

Tuesday, August 23

		Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw (back) threw three simulated innings at Dodger Stadium ahead of Monday night's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Kershaw has been sidelined since early August with a back injury and recently declined to go on a rehab assignment, so he will instead throw another simulated game on Saturday to shake off the rust. If Saturday's session goes smoothly, Kershaw could rejoin the rotation soon after.
		Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery on Tuesday, according to his Instagram account. Buehler was already slated to miss the rest of this season, and now he'll almost certainly miss all of the 2023 season as well. It will be his second Tommy John procedure, which typically takes a longer recovery period than the first surgery. It's big news for one of the best pitchers in baseball when he's healthy. The 28-year-old right-hander went 6-3 with a 4.02 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 58 strikeouts in 65 innings over his 12 starts for the Dodgers this year. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues should have already dropped him, and now he won't be an option in fantasy leagues in 2023.

		Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Blake Treinen (shoulder) earned a hold and fanned all three batters he faced in his lone inning of work for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. Treinen has been out since mid-April with a right shoulder injury, but he's getting closer to a return from the 60-day injured list and could be on track to return to the Dodgers bullpen when the calendar flips to September. The 34-year-old right-hander will likely have a few more minor league rehab outings before rejoining LA as one of the top setup men in front of closer Craig Kimbrel. Treinen has had three straight scoreless outings during his rehab assignment in the minors, so he's been looking good.

		Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (back) is not expected to be required to do a minor league rehab assignment. The plan is for the left-hander to throw a bullpen session on Monday. After that, Kershaw will pitch a simulated game later in the week before rejoining the Dodgers rotation. It sounds like there is a good chance of Kershaw returning to the starting rotation before the end of the month. The 34-year-old has not made a start since August 4th, but could be back soon.

		Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw (back) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session on Friday. Kershaw emerged from the session without any issues as he works his way back from a back injury. The 34-year-old veteran has not made a start since August 4 and has only taken the mound 15 times due to assorted injuries in 2022. Kershaw's next step in his rehab will be a minor league assignment if he is willing. Look for Kershaw to be back in the LA rotation at some point in September.
