Darius Slayton Active For Week 13

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (illness) is active for the upcoming Week 13 matchup against the Washington Commanders. This is good news for the Giants with Kenny Golladay (illness) sitting out this game. That being said, Slayton should see an uptick in targets with Golladay on the sideline. He should be a fine WR3 considering he has been the Giants most reliable wideout. Fantasy managers in need of production at wideout should see if Slayton is available on the waiver wire before kickoff.

    Darius Slayton Misses Practice Thursday

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (illness) was added to this week's injury report on Thursday when he missed practice due to an illness. There's still a good chance that Slayton will be able to play in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders, but it's something fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on heading into Sunday's contest. The 25-year-old has turned into the Giants' top receiving threat in a run-first offense this year. In 10 games, he has caught 27 of his 44 targets for 476 yards and only two touchdowns. In half-point PPR scoring, Slayton isn't even a top-50 fantasy receiver, giving him low upside as a WR3/flex in starting fantasy lineups this weekend if he's active.

Darius Slayton A Healthy Scratch Sunday

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (coach's decision) is inactive for Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. This news isn't a major surprise considering the Giants have a relatively deep wide receiver room consisting of Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, Sterling Shepard, and Wan'Dale Robinson. Of that group, Toney has the most fantasy value, but even he ranks as a low-end WR3 at best.

    Darius Slayton Restructures Contract

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton has restructured his contract for the upcoming season. The 25-year-old will take a significant paycut after experiencing a down year in 2021. Last season, Slayton finished with 26 receptions, 339 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in 13 games. He spent a majority of training camp battling for a spot on the roster. His original $2.5 million salary will turn into $965,000 for the 2022 season. At the moment, Slayton is off the fantasy radar in most formats. Although, he could find his way into the mix, assuming the Giants lose a player or two due to injuries.

Kadarius Toney, Darius Slayton Questionable For Sunday

New York Giants wide receivers Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (undisclosed) have been deemed questionable to suit up for Sunday's contest vs. the Jets. Toney has been slowed in practice by nagging leg injuries, while Slayton played just five snaps in the team's preseason opener two weeks ago due to tightness. While the team got a boost earlier in the week after Sterling Shepard returned from an Achilles tear, he will miss the preseason finale and his status for Week 1 remains unclear. Kenny Golladay figures to serve as Daniel Jones' primary weapon on the outside, although Wan'Dale Robinson should play a sizable role as well. If either Toney or Slayton is held out, their next chance to suit up for game action will come Week 1 against Tennessee.

Darius Slayton Has Precarious Hold On Roster Spot

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton didn't play in the second preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday after being limited all week with an undisclosed soft-tissue injury that he suffered in the preseason opener. The fourth-year wideout has a precarious hold on a roster spot at this time, and the Giants need to get him on the field for the preseason finale if they want to showcase him for a trade. The 25-year-old was working with the third-team offense in training camp practice a few weeks ago and is buried on the team's depth chart at the position. Slayton wasn't able to take advantage of all of the receiver injuries in 2021 and finished with a career-low 26 catches for 339 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games (five starts).
