Gardner Minshew Will Start Against Cowboys
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Gardner Minshew will start in Week 16 against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, according to head coach Nick Sirianni. The Eagles have yet to officially rule Jalen Hurts (shoulder) out for Christmas Eve, but it's probably only a matter of time after he sprained his right shoulder in the Week 15 win over the Chicago Bears. There's a chance that Hurts will be able to return in Week 17, but we'll have to see if he's able to practice next week. Ian Book will likely serve as Minshew's backup this weekend. Minshew Mania will make his first start of 2022 and is plenty capable of running Philly's high-powered offense. It will help that tight end Dallas Goedert (shoulder) is returning from IR. Minshew did fine in two starts for the Eagles in 2021 and should be a viable QB2 play in superflex leagues if you're in need of a QB.
