Nathan Peterman Will Start In Week 18
Chicago Bears quarterback Nathan Peterman will start in Week 18 against the Minnesota Vikings. Superstar quarterback Justin Fields (hip) won't play after battling injuries all season. Last week he suffered a strained hip against the Detroit Lions. Peterman will be the third starting quarterback for the Bears this season after Trevor Siemian started in the Week 12 matchup against the New York Jets for an injured Fields. Despite the appealing matchup against a poor Minnesota defense, Peterman isn't worth starting in single-quarterback leagues this week. Furthermore, running back David Montgomery is the only Chicago player that belongs in fantasy lineups for Week 18.

Justin Fields Injured, Replaced By Nathan Peterman
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (right leg) exited in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles and was taken to the locker room for further evaluation. He amassed 98 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and 95 rushing yards but was also sacked six times before departing the contest. It remains to be seen whether he'll return. In the interim, Nathan Peterman has taken over at quarterback.

Nathan Peterman Promoted To Active Roster
Chicago Bears quarterback Nathan Peterman has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday. This is an interesting development with Justin Fields (shoulder) questionable heading into this Week 12 matchup with the New York Jets. Fields has mentioned he plans to play, but things can always change. Trevor Siemian would draw the start under center, assuming Fields doesn't play. That means, Peterman would be the emergency backup in case something happens to Siemian. Fantasy managers probably won't know more about Fields until closer to game time on Sunday.

Bears Release Nathan Peterman
The Chicago Bears released quarterback Nathan Peterman on Tuesday, according to a source. However, the Bears plan on bringing him back on their practice squad. As of right now, the Bears only have starter Justin Fields and veteran Trevor Siemian in their QB room. Peterman, originally a fifth-round selection of the Buffalo Bills in 2017, has played in 10 games (four starts) in his four NFL seasons. It hasn't gone very well for the 28-year-old, as he's gone 71-for-135 (52.6 percent) for 573 yards, three touchdowns and a whopping 12 interceptions for the Bills and Las Vegas Raiders.
