Robbie Anderson Ruled Out For Season Finale

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Robbie Anderson (back) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. With DeAndre Hopkins (knee) also ruled out for the second straight game, Marquise Brown, Greg Dortch and A.J. Green should operate as the primary pass-catchers for the Cardinals in a meaningless game for them with quarterback David Blough making his second straight start. Anderson will finish an extremely disappointing 2022 season in which he caught 20 passes on 44 targets for a career-low 282 yards and only one touchdown in 16 games for the Cardinals and Carolina Panthers. He caught just seven passes for 76 yards in 10 games with Arizona. The 29-year-old is heading into the final year of his deal, but there's a good chance he'll be cut this offseason.

    Robbie Anderson Missing Again Thursday

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Robbie Anderson (back) wasn't seen on the practice field on Thursday in the portion of practice open to the media. If Anderson doesn't practice on Thursday, it will be his second straight missed session of the week, leaving his status up in the air for Sunday's season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. DeAndre Hopkins has already been ruled out as well, so if Anderson isn't cleared, the Cardinals would be working with Marquise Brown, Greg Dortch and veteran A.J. Green as their top three receivers against a tough Niners defense. If Anderson ends up playing this weekend, he's an easy fade in DFS and season-long leagues with quarterback David Blough making his second straight start.

James Conner, Robbie Anderson Miss Practice

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner (knee, shin) and wide receiver Robbie Anderson (back) were both listed as DNPs on Wednesday's estimated practice report. Conner picked up a shin injury late in last week's game, putting his availability in question for the Week 18 season finale against a tough San Francisco 49ers defense. The 27-year-old is being called day-to-day for now, so as long as he returns to practice later this week, he should close out the year as the team's unquestioned lead back. In the first meeting with SF in Week 11, Conner had 14 carries for 42 yards and a rushing TD. DeAndre Hopkins (knee) has already been ruled out for this weekend, so Anderson could have a big role against San Fran on Sunday if he's able to play. However, with quarterback David Blough under center last week with Hopkins out, Anderson caught just one pass on one target for 13 yards.

    Robbie Anderson Won't Return Sunday

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Robbie Anderson (back) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons. He exited in the second quarter after catching one pass for 13 yards. Arizona is already shorthanded without DeAndre Hopkins (knee), so losing Anderson is far from ideal. The Cardinals will proceed with Marquise Brown, Greg Dortch, and A.J. Green atop their depth chart.

Robbie Anderson Questionable With Back Injury

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Robbie Anderson (back) is questionable to return against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17.

Robbie Anderson Traded To The Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals acquired wide receiver Robbie Anderson from the Carolina Panthers on Monday, according to sources. It's unclear what the Panthers have received in return for Anderson. Anderson was sent off the field on Sunday in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams after he was visibly frustrated by not being targeted at all. With the Panthers in fire-sale mode, Anderson might be just one of a handful of players that Carolina trades away before this year's deadline. He'll get an upgrade in offense with the move to Arizona, and he could play a big role immediately with Marquise Brown dealing with what is likely a multi-week injury. He's worth a dart throw waiver-wire pickup in deep leagues, but also remember that DeAndre Hopkins is returning from his six-game suspension in Week 7. In Carolina, Shi Smith and Terrace Marshall Jr. will have more opportunity in a bad offense.

Robbie Anderson Sent To The Locker Room

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson exited the Week 6 outing against the Los Angeles Rams. The wideout isn't injured. Instead, he was thrown out of the game by interim head coach Steve Wilks after several tense discussions with wide receivers coach Joe Dailey and other members of the staff. Anderson isn't expected to return. If that's the case, he will finish the day without a catch. With the veteran reportedly on the trade block, there's a good chance his tenure in Carolina is over, although there should be more to this situation moving ahead.

    Robbie Anderson Suiting Up Sunday

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson (illness) is officially active for Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. He had been listed as questionable after missing practice on Friday. While Anderson's production could actually increase with P.J. Walker at quarterback this week, he's still not on the fantasy football radar.

Robbie Anderson Listed As Questionable For Week 6

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson (illness) was added to Friday's injury report with an illness and is considered questionable to play in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. Receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. (hamstring) has been ruled out. Anderson was unable to practice on Friday. The 29-year-old went over 100 yards receiving on five catches and caught a touchdown pass in the season opener, but since then he has just eight receptions on 19 targets for 104 yards and no scores. With quarterback P.J. Walker getting the start against the Rams this weekend and with Anderson questionable due to an illness, fantasy managers should be looking elsewhere for a deep-league flex. If he's out, Shi Smith and Terrace Marshall Jr. would be fighting for bigger roles behind DJ Moore.

Robbie Anderson Misses Practice Again Monday

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson (quadriceps) missed training camp practice again on Monday. He's been dealing with a quadriceps injury since the middle of last week. Anderson also sat out of the team's second preseason game, and it remains to be seen if he'll play at all in the preseason finale this Friday against the Buffalo Bills. The 29-year-old should be ready for the Week 1 regular season opener against the Cleveland Browns, but fantasy managers probably aren't thrilled to draft him after he caught just 53 of 110 targets for 519 yards and five touchdowns in 2021 after his first 1,000-yard season in 2020. Quarterback Baker Mayfield should be an upgrade over Sam Darnold, but Anderson will likely go undrafted in standard 12-team leagues.
