  • Cordarrelle Patterson Comes Off IR, Will Play In Week 9

The Atlanta Falcons activated running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) off Injured Reserve on Saturday, according to sources. He will be back in action in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday after practicing all week. Patterson has missed the last four games, but he'll be ready to go against a Chargers run defense that has been porous so far this year, so the 31-year-old could make some noise right away. However, given the long layoff due to injury, the Falcons could choose to play it safe and ease Patterson back into the offense after heavy usage in 2021. Rookie Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley have seen increased roles with Patterson on the sideline, but they could remain involved on Sunday, making Patterson a tough-to-trust RB3/flex play.

  • Cordarrelle Patterson Designated To Return To Practice

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) was designated to return to practice off Injured Reserve on Wednesday following a left knee scope. It opens a 21-day window for the Falcons to officially activate Patterson from IR, but he's not guaranteed to return this weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers. The 31-year-old versatile weapon last played in Week 4 and had 58 carries for 340 yards and three touchdowns and four receptions for 28 yards as the primary back before going on the shelf. Rookie Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley have been splitting the backfield duties ever since, but Patterson should eventually reclaim lead-back duties in Atlanta when he's fully healthy. If for some reason Patterson remains available on your league's waiver wire, pick him up immediately.

  • Cordarrelle Patterson To Go On Injured Reserve

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) is headed to Injured Reserve but is expected to return at some point this season. His placement on IR means he'll be out for at least four weeks. Rookie Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley combined for 140 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Browns and will be the featured backs moving forward. Damien Williams (rib) could return soon, too, so he's worth noting. For now, it's tough to say whether Allgeier or Huntley is the player to start in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it'll be a tough matchup against one of the league's premier front sevens in the NFL.

  • Cordarrelle Patterson Active For Week 4

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) is active for the Week 4 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. He was limited during Friday's practice, but appears ready to go in this one. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Patterson to be limited in this contest. He'll be a strong RB2 against a defense that is missing star pass rusher Myles Garrett due to injury. Fantasy managers should check their teams and make sure Patterson is active.

  • Cordarrelle Patterson Plans To Play Sunday

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) plans to play versus the Cleveland Browns in Week 4 but won't know for sure until he tests his injury pregame, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Patterson did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday, was limited on Friday, and officially carries a "questionable" designation into this week's contest. If active, he should be viewed as a fringe top-12 running back in fantasy football.

  • Cordarrelle Patterson Not Practicing Thursday

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) was not spotted at practice on Thursday after also being held out on Wednesday. The Falcons listed his absence as a "veterans rest day" on Wednesday, but his second straight missed practice makes this a situation worth monitoring. Fantasy managers should check back in for his status on Friday, but as of now, it doesn't seem like something to be overly concerned about. If he suits up against the Browns in Week 4, Patterson can be considered as a high-end RB2 after a career-high 141 rushing yards in Week 3.

  • Cordarrelle Patterson Resting His Knee Wednesday

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) didn't take part in Wednesday's practice. His absence was qualified as a veteran rest day, but the Falcons also added a note that Patterson was specifically resting his knee after he ran for a career-high 141 yards in the Week 3 win over the Seattle Seahawks. The Falcons gave Patterson a ton of rest in the offseason and will likely continue to do so early in the practice week this year. Fantasy managers shouldn't be worried that he'll miss the Week 4 contest against the Cleveland Browns. Unless he suffers some sort of setback later in the week, the 31-year-old running back should be considered a high-end RB2 in fantasy this week.
