Eagles place CB Mills (foot) on IR
The Philadelphia Eagles placed cornerback Jalen Mills on injured reserve Saturday with a foot injury, ending his season. There was hope that Mills, who has been out since the Week 8 game in London, would return at some point this season, but reports Saturday morning suggested that was unlikely. Mills, 24, finishes with 42 tackles and nine passes defensed in eight games, all starts. He had three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) in 15 starts last season. Mills joins defensive backs Ronald Darby and Rodney McLeod on injured reserve. Cornerbacks Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas also have battled injuries, forcing Philadelphia to rely on undrafted rookies De'Vante Bausby, Chandon Sullivan and Cre'Von LeBlanc. Jones and Douglas are not on the injury report this week and expected to start on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. To fill Mills' roster spot, the Eagles promoted undrafted rookie defensive lineman Bruce Hector from the practice squad. Hector has played six games this season, posting a half sack, while spending the rest of the year on the practice squad. His addition provides depth with defensive tackle Tim Jernigan (back) questionable for Sunday. --Field Level Media
