Steelers rookie QB Kenny Pickett to start vs. Raiders
Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett is expected to start Saturday's game against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders, coach Mike Tomlin announced Tuesday. Tomlin said Pickett has cleared concussion protocol and will return as a full participant in practice to start the week. Pickett sat out Pittsburgh's 24-16 victory over the Carolina Panthers last Sunday, one week after he was injured in the Steelers' 16-14 setback to the Baltimore Ravens. He was slammed to the ground by Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith during the first quarter. Pickett, 24, has completed 65.0 percent of his passes for four touchdowns and eight interceptions in 10 games this season. He was selected by the Steelers with the 20th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. Mitch Trubisky completed 17 of 22 passes for 179 yards against the Panthers. --Field Level Media
