Nick Madrigal Placed On The Injured List
Chicago Cubs second baseman Nick Madrigal (groin) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right groin strain. The 25-year-old infielder left Friday's game against the Giants early with right groin tightness and that's the ailment that's placed him on the IL. He was hampered by a left groin issue earlier this season as well. Injuries have limited Madrigal to just 59 games played this season where he's put together a .249 batting average to go along with a .587 OPS and seven RBI over 209 at-bats. There's a chance he could make it back for the end of the regular season.
