Rockies Avoid Arbitration With Dinelson Lamet
The Colorado Rockies avoided salary arbitration with right-hander Dinelson Lamet on Wednesday by agreeing to an undisclosed one-year deal. Lamet began the 2022 season with the San Diego Padres before being traded to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Rockies then claimed him off waivers from the Brewers in August. The 30-year-old pitched to a 4.05 ERA (3.46 FIP), a 1.20 WHIP, 29 strikeouts and 10 walks in 20 relief innings for Colorado to close out the year. The Padres traded him after he allowed 14 runs (13 earned) on 16 hits while walking nine and striking out 16 in 12 1/3 relief innings to begin the season. Lamet began his MLB career as a starter, but injuries have relegated him to relief duties in recent seasons.
