White Sox To Pick Up Tim Anderson's Option
The Chicago White Sox are planning to pick up shortstop Tim Anderson's $12.5 million team option for the 2023 season, as expected. Anderson had a frustrating season in 2022 due to injuries, as he played in only 79 games. However, he was still one of the best shortstops in the league when he was on the field, making his second straight All-Star team while slashing .301/.339/.395 with six home runs, 25 RBI, 50 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 351 plate appearances. As long as the 29-year-old doesn't completely bomb next season, the White Sox will also likely exercise his $14 million team option for 2024. Anderson should head into spring training next year fully healthy, and he'll be one of the most appealing shortstop options in fantasy drafts.

Tim Anderson Shut Down For The Year
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (hand) has been shut down for the rest of the regular season with the team being eliminated from playoff contention, according to interim manager Miguel Cairo. Anderson had surgery in August to fix a sagittal-band tear in his left hand and he will end up missing the rest of a disappointing season for the Pale Hose in 2022. There's no reason for the team to bring the star shortstop back now that they won't make the postseason. Veteran Elvis Andrus will continue to serve as the team's primary shortstop the rest of the way. Anderson will finish his 2022 campaign with a .301/.339/.395 slash line, six home runs, 25 RBI, 50 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 351 plate appearances over 79 games played.

Tim Anderson Cleared To Ramp Up Baseball Activities
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (hand) followed up with a hand specialist and has been cleared to ramp up his baseball activities immediately. If he can avoid any setbacks after having left hand surgery on Aug. 6, Anderson could potentially return to the White Sox's starting lineup at some point next week. There's very little time for the 29-year-old to contribute the rest of the way for fantasy managers, but he should remain stashed everywhere. The two-time All-Star was hitting .301/.339/.395 with six home runs, 25 RBI, 50 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 351 plate appearances over 79 games before his injury. The White Sox signed veteran Elvis Andrus to be their everyday shortstop with Anderson on the shelf.

Tim Anderson Seeing A Hand Specialist On Tuesday
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (finger) is seeing a hand specialist on Tuesday. Anderson, who underwent surgery to repair a tear in the sagittal band of his left middle finger on August 11, has yet to begin playing catch or swinging a bat. The hope would be that the specialist on Tuesday would clear Anderson for both activities. There is still no timetable for his return but perhaps he can rejoin the surging White Sox in late September.
