  Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (back) has returned to the lineup on Saturday against the Oakland Athletics. The veteran backstop had missed the previous two games with back tightness but he's back out there behind the dish and batting eighth against Oakland hurler Adrian Martinez. Injuries have limited Grandal to just 81 games played this season, he's slashing .203/.309/.269 with four home runs and 23 RBI over 271 at-bats.

  Yasmani Grandal Activated From Injured List

  The Chicago White Sox activated catcher Yasmani Grandal (knee) from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday and optioned catcher Carlos Perez to Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Grandal will immediately return to the starting lineup on Wednesday against Kansas City Royals left-hander Kris Bubic, doing the catching and hitting sixth in the batting order. The 33-year-old veteran backstop has done very little at the plate in 2022 for the Pale Hose, so he could be in danger of splitting time behind the plate with Seby Zavala the rest of the way. Grandal is slashing .203/.307/.259 with only three home runs, 21 RBI, nine stolen bases and one stolen base in his 251 at-bats.

  Yasmani Grandal Likely To Be Activated On Wednesday

  Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (knee) is expected to be activated from the injured list on Wednesday. The 33-year-old has been hitting the ball well during his minor league rehab assignment. Although, it's uncertain how much he'll be able to catch due to his lingering left knee issue. Eloy Jimenez has been serving as the designated hitter, so things could get interesting in Chicago. Grandal wasn't offering much at the plate before the injury, so most fantasy managers can continue to avoid him going forward.

  Yasmani Grandal Has Three Hits In Doubleheader Sunday

  Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (knee) went 3-for-7 with a home run and four RBI in both games of a doubleheader on Sunday during his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. Grandal's injury wasn't considered very serious at the time he was placed on the 10-day injured list, and he looks to be doing just fine on his rehab assignment. Fantasy managers should expect him to return to the big leagues at some point this week, where he'll share catching duties in Chicago with Seby Zavala. However, Grandal has done very little with the lumber in the majors this year, slashing just .203/.307/.259 with three home runs, 21 RBI, nine runs scored and a stolen base in 251 at-bats.

  Yasmani Grandal Records Two Hits In Rehab Game

  Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (knee) went 2-for-4 in his first minor league rehab game on Friday night with Triple-A Charlotte. Grandal landed on the injured list this month with a left knee strain, but the injury isn't considered very serious, so he could return to the White Sox's lineup sooner than later. Chicago may not want to rush him back, though, as he's hit just .203/.307/.259 with three home runs, 21 RBI, nine runs scored and a stolen base in 251 at-bats in 2022. Seby Zavala, who has been much better offensively this year, will continue to do the majority of the catching for the Pale Hose until Grandal is deemed healthy enough to return to the big leagues.

  Yasmani Grandal Looks Fine

  Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (knee) was walking around the clubhouse on Monday like nothing ever happened to his knee. "It's amazing," skipper Tony La Russa said. Grandal left the clubhouse on Sunday on crutches. He's getting treatment but is also "taking a few swings" in the cages, according to La Russa. The White Sox placed the 33-year-old veteran on the 10-day injured list on Sunday after he was injured on a slide on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians. Unless he suffers a setback, it sounds as though Grandal has a great chance to return when he's eligible. With Grandal sidelined, Seby Zavala should be the team's primary backstop. Grandal has struggled mightily at the plate in 2022, slashing .203/.307/.259 with three homers, 21 RBI and nine runs scored in 251 at-bats.

  Yasmani Grandal Avoids Serious Injury

  Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday. He underwent further testing which revealed no major damage to his left knee. The organization believes that Grandal can return to action within the next 10-14 days. The 33-year-old has done very little at the plate this season, so fantasy managers should be able to find a better option. Grandal should be back on the field within the next two weeks.

  Yasmani Grandal Placed On Injured List

  The Chicago White Sox placed catcher Yasmani Grandal (knee) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a left knee strain and selected the contract of catcher Carlos Perez from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. The team also moved right-hander Kyle Crick to the 60-day injured list. Grandal was injured sliding into home plate on Saturday and will now miss at least the next 10 days. The 33-year-old left-handed hitter has done very little for fantasy managers in 2022, hitting .203/.307/.259 with three homers, 21 RBI and nine stolen bases in 251 at-bats. Seby Zavala should take over the primary catching duties for the White Sox with Grandal sidelined. Zavala has been much better offensively, hitting .279/.326/.395 with two long balls, 18 RBI and 15 runs in 129 at-bats.
