Report: RHP Ross Stripling, Giants reach 2-year, $25M deal
Free-agent right-hander Ross Stripling and the San Francisco Giants came to terms on a two-year, $25 million contract, ESPN reported on Tuesday. Per the network, the deal includes an opt-out clause after the first season. Stripling, 33, recorded career-best totals in wins and ERA last season while splitting time as both a starter and a reliever with the Toronto Blue Jays. He finished with a 10-4 record and 3.01 ERA in 32 games (24 starts). Stripling did not make an appearance in the playoffs last season for the Blue Jays, who were swept by the Seattle Mariners in the American League wild-card series. An All-Star in 2018, Stripling owns a 38-38 record with a 3.78 ERA in 204 career appearances (104 starts) with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2016-20) and Blue Jays. --Field Level Media
