Giants add OF Mitch Haniger on three-year deal

The San Francisco Giants agreed to terms with outfielder Mitch Haniger on Tuesday, with multiple outlets reporting the deal is for three years and $43.5 million and includes an opt-out after the second year. Haniger, 31, returns to his native Northern California after six major league seasons, the last five with the Seattle Mariners. An All-Star in 2018, Haniger batted .246 with a .736 OPS last season, with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs in 57 games while dealing with a high ankle sprain. Haniger, a native of Mountain View, Calif. who attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, is a career .261 hitter with an .811 OPS, 112 home runs and 323 RBIs in 564 games. Even with the outfield addition, reports indicate the Giants remain in the market to add free agent Aaron Judge, the American League MVP who hit 62 home runs for the New York Yankees last season. --Field Level Media
