Professional ice hockey player James Hamblin is presently a forward with the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers. Hamblin was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on April 27, 1999. He played junior hockey in his hometown and subsequently joined future Oilers teammates Stuart Skinner and others at the South Side Athletic Club (SSAC).<\/p>\n

After being selected by the Medicine Hat Tigers in the WHL Bantam Draft in 2014, Hamblin enjoyed a successful junior career that included him being named team captain and reaching career highs in his last year. Because of worries about his stature (5’9″), he was not taken in the NHL Draft despite his accomplishments in junior hockey.<\/p>\n
