According to the team today, Kamilla Cardoso, the highly awaited rookie for the Chicago Sky, will miss a large chunk of the early WNBA season because of a shoulder issue. The injury will set back the Sky’s hopes for the upcoming season as the third overall choice from last month’s WNBA Draft will likely be out for four to six weeks while she heals.<\/p>\n

The injury occurred during the Sky’s preseason game against the Minnesota Lynx last Friday. Cardoso is a towering 6-foot 7-inch center. After further medical assessments, the severity of the injury was determined, which is why the team announced her stay away.<\/p>\n
