Born on January 18, 1999, Ian Mitchell is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who plays for the American Hockey League’s Providence Bruins (AHL) while also having a contract with the National Hockey League’s Boston Bruins (NHL).<\/p>\n

Reunited with his head coach from Denver, Jim Montgomery, Mitchell was moved by the Blackhawks on June 26, 2023, as an upcoming RFA, to the Boston Bruins along with Alec Regula in exchange for Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno. On July 10, 2023, Mitchell agreed to a one-year, two-way contract for $775,000 with the Bruins, avoiding arbitration.<\/p>\n
