Canadian-born Brad Marchand plays left wing for the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League (NHL) and is the team’s captain. Marchand was chosen by the Bruins with the 71st overall pick in the third round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.<\/p>\n

Marchand, the eldest of two children born to local hockey coaches, grew up in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n

Before making his NHL debut in October 2009, he played for the Providence Bruins during the 2008\u201309 AHL season. Playing on the fourth line, Marchand was a part of the starting lineup for the Bruins in 2010 and contributed to their Stanley Cup Finals victory in 2011.<\/p>\n
