Born on March 26, 2000, Andrei Igorevich Svechnikov plays ice hockey as a professional for the National Hockey League (NHL) Carolina Hurricanes. In the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, the Hurricanes picked him with the second overall pick.<\/p>\n

On October 4, 2018, Svechnikov made his NHL debut, finishing scoreless in a 2-1 defeat to the New York Islanders. A day later, in a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets, he got his first career NHL point (an assist).<\/p>\n
