Born on July 6, 2000, Esperi Kotkaniemi is a Finnish professional ice hockey center who plays right now for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes (NHL). In the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, the Montreal Canadiens selected him third overall.<\/p>\n

When he was added to the Canadiens opening night roster in October 2018, he became the first athlete born in the 2000s to play in one of the major professional sports leagues in both the United States and Canada.<\/p>\n
