The Fighting Irish have officially added 30-year-old Eric Goins to the roster as the team&#8217;s newest kicker in the most American move ever made.<\/p>\n<h2>Notre Dame Football Signed A 30-Year-Old Army Vet<\/h2>\n<p>Goins last participated in college football for The Citadel in 2015 before enlisting in the Army. Over eight years have passed since the game he believed would be his last, and now he is in his last year of collegiate football.<\/p>\n<p>Before moving to South Bend in August, Goins graduated from The Citadel in September 2016 and joined the military as a Second Lieutenant. This objective is where I currently feel most compelled to direct my skills and abilities towards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With one year of eligibility left after a redshirt season in 2012, Goins, now 30 years old, will make his football comeback as a Golden Domer.
