Even before they ate Thanksgiving meal, the attorneys managing the racial discrimination lawsuit against the NFL were giving them a great deal of discomfort. The owner of the Indianapolis Colts lost it on social media on Wednesday night, slamming ESPN&#8217;s Kimberley A. Martin for daring to refute Irsay&#8217;s ridiculous assertion that his 2014 DWI arrest was the result of his status as a &#8220;rich, white billionaire.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Kimberley A. Martin\u00a0Responds To Jim Irsay&#8217;s Rant In A One Liner<\/h2>\n<p>Rather of addressing the veteran NFL reporter by name during the broadcast on ESPN&#8217;s &#8220;First Take,&#8221; Irsay dubbed Martin &#8220;mean and ugly,&#8221; &#8220;a nothing burger,&#8221; and &#8220;the Woman that preceded Stephen A. (Smith).&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is the Jim Irsay\/First Take situation for anyone confused.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JimIrsay?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@JimIrsay<\/a> made a stir by saying on HBO\u2019s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel that his 2014 arrest came from prejudice against white billionaires. On First Take this morning, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stephenasmith?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@stephenasmith<\/a> + others said this about it: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6U2101UzTM\">pic.twitter.com\/6U2101UzTM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Nash Henry (@NashJagsNats22) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NashJagsNats22\/status\/1727464486305497099?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 22, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Irsay&#8217;s contentious remarks on his 2014 arrest were discussed on the ESPN morning program earlier on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am prejudiced against because I&#8217;m a rich, white billionaire,&#8221; Irsay stated. &#8220;If I&#8217;m just the average guy down the block, they&#8217;re not pulling me in, of course not.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t care what it sounds like,&#8221; Irsay added. &#8220;It&#8217;s the truth. &#8230; I could give a damn what people think how anything sounds or sounds like. If my Black Mother Dorthy was still alive..you\u2019d be in some big Hot Water! You are mean and ugly\ud83d\ude43 Your a Nothing Burger\ud83d\ude15,&#8221; he said on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Martin responded to Irsay&#8217;s attack with a simple &#8220;You&#8217;re*&#8221; and changed her name on her X profile to &#8220;Woman that preceded Stephen A&#8221; in response, taking the criticism in stride.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Idk I\u2019d be pretty pissed too if I was <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JimIrsay?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@JimIrsay<\/a>. He generously gave their soon to be cancelled show a whole sit down interview where nothing was off limits and this is how <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Andrea_Kremer?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Andrea_Kremer<\/a> and Bryant Gumbel treat him after the fact\u2026 Elitist bull crap from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RealSportsHBO?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RealSportsHBO<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6P4PaGVlYV\">pic.twitter.com\/6P4PaGVlYV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; ColtsFanCole (@ColtsFanCole) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ColtsFanCole\/status\/1727462113205952851?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 22, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Aside from its poor grammar and excessive use of capital letters, Irsay&#8217;s rant is problematic because it perpetuates stereotypes that have been used for generations to demean Black women.<\/p>\n<p>This gets us to the main issue with Irsay&#8217;s outburst. There are now two racial discrimination cases against the NFL.
