According to NFL Media, the New York Jets<\/a> called an audible after negotiations with Aaron Rodgers stagnated and asked about the potential availability of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.<\/p>\n

Reports: Jets Had Plans To Trade QB Matthew Stafford Before Aaron Rodgers<\/h2>\n

According to the report, conversations between the two teams were brief and to the point. The Rams, who acquired Stafford from the Lions two years ago in exchange for a plethora of selections, decided not to deal their quarterback. Rodgers was eventually acquired by the Jets after a trade agreement was reached with the Packers.<\/p>\n

It was informed by two sources that Los Angeles was certain that Stafford would remain put. The 35-year-old was also contacted by other clubs looking for a quarterback, but despite his 2022 season being cut short by injuries, no agreement could be reached.<\/p>\n
