American football quarterback Patrick Mahomes plays for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs. He played baseball and football in college at Texas Tech and is the son of former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Pat Mahomes. He gave up baseball after his sophomore season to concentrate completely on football. He topped all NCAA Division I FBS players in several categories during his junior year, including passing yards (5,052) and total touchdowns. In the 2017 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected him with the tenth overall pick.<\/p>\n
