With the biggest victory of his career, Liam Broady elevated the best year of his life to a completely new level.<\/p>\n

The British No. 5 defeated the fourth-best player on Earth Casper Ruud in a titanic battle 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3 and 6-0, defeating a player ranked in the top 10 for the first time.<\/p>\n

Broady, a City supporter, had been worshipping Norwegian No. 9 Erling Haaland for the previous few months as his side won the Triple Crown.<\/p>\n
