Former Patriots defensive coordinator Eric Mangini praised Jones&#8217; statement but chastised him for his &#8220;arrogance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Ex Patriots Coach Eric Mangini Found \u201clittle arrogance&#8221; To The Manner Mac Jones Approached The Season<\/h2>\n<p>Eric Mangini, a former Bill Belichick assistant in New England who used the word &#8220;arrogant&#8221; to characterize the rookie QB&#8217;s style, is one of these critics.<\/p>\n<p>To be fair, Mangini did acknowledge Jones&#8217; efforts to correct some of last year&#8217;s errors by accepting the blame while addressing the 33rd Team. He had a team that played complementary football. He came from a program that was similar. It was a perfect situation for who he was. Jones&#8217; performance declined in 2022, but he also made several controversial statements on the field.
