The UFC’s first female color commentator, Laura Sanko, recently made headlines after a joke about her having a crush on fighter Shavkat Rakhmonov went viral. Sanko started the joke by admitting that she was “nervous” before speaking with Rakhmonov and that she gets “chills” even though she has never met him.<\/p>\n

In Rakhmonov’s native Kazakhstan, Sanko’s remarks rapidly gained her popularity, particularly after she wore his traditional hat. Gerald Meerschaert, a teammate of Rakhmonov, fueled the flames by joking that he could get Rakhmonov’s number for Sanko.<\/p>\n
