He doesn&#8217;t give a damn.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Peter Seidler was asked why he&#39;s so comfortable with the risks he&#39;s taking investing so much financially into the roster: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/004MJLC1X2\">pic.twitter.com\/004MJLC1X2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; 97.3 The Fan (@973TheFanSD) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/973TheFanSD\/status\/1628108455667171328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 21, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/mlb\/columnist\/bob-nightengale\/2023\/02\/21\/padres-chairman-peter-seidler-responds-criticism-over-payroll\/11313958002\/\">USA Today<\/a>, Seidler recently told reporters \u201cWe\u2019re here to win a title. That\u2019s what I expect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued by saying he and the Padres don\u2019t spend much time worrying about the other owners\u2019 opinions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t spend too much time, if any, thinking about what other people are thinking,\u2019\u2019 Seidler explained. \u201cTruly, I care about what we\u2019re thinking in this room in San Diego. To me, it just feels great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seidler also realizes that the more you invest in making your product fun and exciting, the more likely it is that fans will show up.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sNc2S--2Rgc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur situation is unique,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cWe have a very sports-oriented and hungry fanbase. We believe that if we continue to build that trust, they will continue to come. It\u2019s about winning. It\u2019s about being exciting. And it\u2019s about our fans, young and old, knowing that they\u2019re going to be able to watch great, exciting players, year after year after year. \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cWe\u2019ve chosen to really focus on the players and what has spawned out of that is this amazing relationship between our players and our fans.
