The past weekend, the Los Angeles Chargers took on the Seattle Seahawks in what was a closely contested game. However, the spotlight on the day was stolen by something that has been a source of debate between all parties involved in the NFL for a long time now. Cooper Kupp was one of the few athletes to raise his concerns after a game that saw two players suffer serious injuries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf appears to have avoided a severe injury, Chargers cornerback J.C. Jackson is out for the year with a ruptured patellar tendon. After the game, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that the NFL and the NFLPA should assess the difference in safety for athletes playing on artificial turf as opposed to playing on grass.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cooper Kupp, who plays his home games at the SoFi stadium shared his thoughts on artificial turfs. He said, <\/span>\u201cIt\u2019s not even close. I know there\u2019s stuff going around the league right now, there\u2019s some issues. Hands down, we should be playing on grass. Hands down, we should be on grass. And that\u2019s all I\u2019m going to say.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
