NFL placekicker for the Los Angeles Chargers, Dustin Hopkins plays American football. In the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills selected him out of Florida State to play college football. Hopkins played football for the Washington Redskins from 2015 until his release in 2021. In the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Hopkins was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the 177th overall pick.<\/p>\n

He will join former Florida State teammates Shawn Powell, a punter, and EJ Manuel, a quarterback. When Florida State’s then-special team coordinator Jody Allen watched high school game footage of Hopkins’ kickoffs, Hopkins was recruited by the Seminoles. Notre Dame also expressed interest. In his first season, Hopkins made 19 of 27 field goals, or around 70%, for the year.<\/p>\n

Florida State made a comeback against Clemson on November 13, 2010, after trailing the whole game. In the last three seconds of regulation, with the score tied at 13, Florida State marched into Clemson territory. Hopkins then kicked a 55-yard field goal to seal the victory.<\/p>\n
