The Minnesota Vikings announced on Tuesday that they have released backup quarterback Sean Mannion and released quarterback Kellen Mond. When the Vikings traded for quarterback Nick Mullens from the Las Vegas Raiders last week, Mond’s demise seemed assured. He has recently been compared with Colin Kaepernick.<\/p>\n

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler graded Mond as the eighth-best quarterback prospect going into the draught. Brugler, who also compared him to Colin Kaepernick, questioned Mond’s accuracy, timing, and decision-making. The third-round pick in 2021, Mond, never felt at home in Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Overall, Mond is in the Colin Kaepernick mold with his lean, angular frame, strong arm and long-striding athleticism, but his ball placement, timing and decision-making lack consistency. His natural tools will push him up several draft boards.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
