Last season, Cam Akers<\/a>, running back for the Los Angeles Rams, suffered a torn Achilles. He missed nearly all of the regular season and performed poorly in the postseason. While this all seems like bad news for people that end up choosing him for their fantasy lineups, there are still possible upsides for him going into the upcoming season. Here’s his fantasy football speculations.<\/p>\n

For starters, Akers’ return to the field after going down with an Achilles injury was a miracle in itself. The recovery time for a torn Achilles injury is estimated to be anywhere from six to twelve months. Akers went down in July with the official announcement being July 20th. Akers actually played the final week of the regular season (Week 18) which would put him in late December. That\u2019s just five months of recovery time, after which he jumped straight into the postseason without much time for practice. To come back from a serious injury with no real practice time to take on some of the toughest run defenses in the league is a bit of a tall order as well.<\/p>\n
