Rudy Gobert has taken no time in stating his ambition after trading the Utah Jazz for the Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a>.\u00a0 The Frenchman was presented by the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday afternoon, and the three-time defensive POTY said, <\/span>” I came here to win. The goal is to win a championship. That’s why I came to Minnesota.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Timberwolves have only made the playoffs twice in the previous 18 seasons, so winning a championship will be challenging. However, Gobert thinks he has found the ideal challenge for this stage of his career with an emerging squad and the opportunity to play with Karl-Anthony Towns.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gobert stated that he and KAT “have obviously been at it for many years and we’re really unique and different guys.” “Can that work? I asked [my agent] when she initially informed me about Minnesota. Every night as I was getting ready for bed, I was considering it. As I gave it more thought, I realized that teaming up with someone like KAT and a competitive club like the Timberwolves would likely be the most interesting challenge for me. “here to win a championship’<\/span><\/p>\n

Minnesota acquired the 30-year-old from the Utah Jazz for five players and five first-round draft selections, but despite the exorbitant cost, they were able to keep several of their key players, including emerging star Anthony Edwards and the much sought-after Jaden McDaniels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gobert, 30, has played for Utah throughout his nine seasons in the National Basketball Association, where he has helped the Jazz to the playoffs six times in a row.<\/span><\/p>\n

He had a league-leading 14.7 rebounds, 15.6 points, and 2.1 blocks per game last year. <\/span>The “Stifle Tower” player will join forces with Karl-Anthony Towns, a great big man who has allegedly committed to a four-year, $224 million agreement, in Minnesota.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since Rudy Gobert checks Twitter comments, he is aware that throughout his first nine NBA seasons, Minnesotans weren’t very fond of him. Additionally, he frequently overheard Timberwolves coach Chris Finch criticize the way he set screens.<\/span><\/p>\n
