Brandon Moreno made history at UFC 263 when he became the first Mexican-born UFC champion. \u2018The Assassin Baby\u2019 put on a dominant display and secured an impressive submission win over Deiveson Figueiredo. Their first fight for the flyweight belt ended in a draw and Moreno was able to secure a win in the second fight. This obviously meant that the UFC had to book the two for a trilogy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The third fight between Moreno and Figueiredo took place at UFC 270. This time around the fight went the distance, and it was Figueiredo who came out victorious, leveling the series at\u00a0one win apiece. After the event, Dana White stated that he would book the two for the fourth time, given how the first three fights played out. This idea did not sit well with Figueiredo, who stated that Moreno and his team had been racist towards him, which is why he did not want a rematch. \u2018The God of War\u2019 put forward other fights that the UFC<\/a> had no interest in. Following this the Brazilian champion decided to get a surgery done which would keep him out till the end of the year. Which prompted the UFC to set up an interim title fight between Kai Kara-France and Brandon Moreno.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kai Kara-France gives his verdict on Brandon Moreno\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In a recent interview, Kara-France shared his thoughts on the former champion. He said, <\/span>“I think the best thing about Moreno, he is mentally on another level, where he is just kind of hard to break. He is always going to be game. He is always going to be in your face and bring the fight to you and, you know, I like that style. I like when people do that.”<\/span><\/i>
