After his recent loss to Michael Chandler, Tony Ferguson is on a four-fight skid. \u2018El Cucuy\u2019 has not won a fight since June 2019 when he secured a stoppage win against Donald Cerrone at UFC 238. The former interim champion in recent interviews stated that he is not done with the sport and will come back stronger after taking some time away from the sport to focus on his health and his family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferguson\u2019s rise in the UFC coincided with Khabib Nurmagomedov\u2019s rise. Ferguson and Nurmagomedov were the two best fighters in the division at the time by a mile. They were scheduled to fight each other five times. To the dismay of fans, the fight never took place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a recent interview, Ferguson shared an idea of how the two men can compete against each other without actually fighting. He said, <\/span>\u201cI believe when [Khabib Nurmagomedov’s] dad said we were supposed to compete, believe that. would love to be able to coach against him on The Ultimate Fighter.. It doesn’t matter what game we play, it would be cool to go out there, shake the dude’s hand, kinda squash some beef and move on.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
