Former UFC lightweight champion Jon Jones is currently awaiting a fight as he prepares to make his debut at heavyweight. \u2018Bones\u2019 has been out of action since February 2020 after securing a win over Dominick Reyes in what many believe was a fight he lost. In the post-fight interview, Jones stated that he would be vacating the light heavyweight belt and moving up to heavyweight to become one of the very few fighters to have become champions in two weight classes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the move has taken a lot of time since Jones and the UFC<\/a> have not been able to reach an agreement over his pay. During that time, Jones parted ways with his old management company and hired Richard Schaefer to represent him moving forwards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a recent interview, Jones\u2019 teammate and training partner Yorgan De Castro shared his insights on what is in store for Jones\u2019 opponents at heavyweight. He said, <\/span>“I think [Jon] Jones will run through Stipe [Miocic]. I think he will take him down and win by TKO. He’s been waiting two years for this. He’s walking around at 255 pounds but is so strong. And cardio will be the key. He has so much cardio. He hits pads for two hours and doesn’t slow down.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Castro continued, <\/span>“You’re never comfortable with [Jon Jones] in sparring. If you start to get comfortable with the hands, he wrestles you. If you want to get up, he throws elbows and knees. Not many people can do that at heavyweight. Everybody has heavy hands, but not many people can combine with the wrestling and jiu-jitsu. The fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic was supposed to take place in the last week of July. However, recent developments have pushed the fight back to September.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
