The 2021 NFL season is yet to begin, but the excitement among fans has already started raising the mercury. People are contemplating the probable match-us between the stars of the game, and even the newcomers are in the game. Two of the players currently making headlines are the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and the New England Patriots\u2019 rookie Mac Jones.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chargers QB won the 2020 rookie of the year title. On the other hand, Jones, who is all set to make his debut in the NFL, has an impressive college football record to his name. Both these athletes have been officially recognised game-changers on their rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

Justin Herbert vs Mac Jones:<\/b> Past Records<\/b><\/p>\n

While Mac was crowned an All-American in 2020, as he went on to win the College Football Playoff National Championship, Herbert has already proved himself at the college level before making a mark in his debut NFL season. The 23-year old LA Chargers quarterback not only won the 2019 PAC-12 Championship but was also named the MVP of the 2020 Rose Bowl.<\/span><\/p>\n

Who will win face-to-face?<\/b><\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, both players and their respective profiles seem interesting. But what if these two come across each other this year when the New England Patriots<\/a> take against the Los Angeles-based franchise? Who will come at the top? Well, whoever it might be, the NFL Network panellists have their say on this.<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked this very question, NFL analyst Curtis Conway expressed his full faith in Herbert and the Chargers. He said, \u201c<\/span>I\u2019ll go with Justin Herbert. You talk about this guy, I mean he was on fire last season, and he\u2019s gonna continue to play just as good as he played last season. They (LA Chargers) added another weapon at wide receiver, they added another tight end, and they showed off their offensive lot. I\u2019m going with the Chargers on this one<\/span><\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Mac Jones is 2021\u2019s Justin Herbert<\/b><\/p>\n

A lot of big names in the football universe have faith in Mac Jones. Mike Tannenbaum, the former New York Jets<\/a> general manager, recently said in an interview that Jones has the potential to become this year\u2019s Herbert. He referred to the success that the Chargers quarterback achieved during his rookie season last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, he described the 22-year old Patriots QB as a \u201ccross\u201d between Matt Ryan<\/a> and Jimmy Garoppolo.<\/a> Tannenbaum said, \u201c<\/span>He’s more athletic than people realize, he’s accurate, he’s a winner, he’s going to go a lot earlier than people realize and he’s going to be a front line starter in the NFL<\/span><\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
